OBASANJO URGES NIGERIAN YOUTHS TO FIGHT FOR THEIR SURVIVALS ...PERIOD

The former President Olusegun Obasanjo, urged the youth of Nigeria to make their own contribution to national development instead of complaining. Obasanjo made this call at at the 100th-year anniversary of Ijero Baptist Church in Lagos on Sunday.

"Recently, a son of my friend looked at everything around him and got angry and went to meet his dad who is my age mate. He told his father that our generation is a lost one. The father did not pay him any attention so he came to meet me.

"He told me what he told his father and justified it by telling me that he went to the university and graduated but got no job. So, our generation has failed him. So I told him that it is normal because that was how we used to blame the generation before us.

"But I told him that the generation before mine was the one that fought for our independence. Whichever way we want to criticise them, they gave us independence. Then my generation which you say is not good, fought the civil war. We fought for the unity of Nigeria and if we did not do so, you probably would need a visa to travel to Kano or Port Harcourt. Not only that but that generation also established the foundation of democracy.

"So what do you claim your generation has achieved? It is part of it. We have seen what successive leaders of each generation have done, what can we say about you? What can we say about your generation?"

Can we get to know who Sonia is and what she does?

I was born 19th January 1991 in a family of three, as only girl and the oldest child. I study at University of Belgrade in Republic of Serbia, At Faculty of Political Sciences - Department of Social Policy to be more specific. At the moment I am busy with my masters. I also do work of a translator because I fluently speak Five languages (does pidgin counts too? laughs). From time to time I do modeling jobs, but I really don’t take them truly serious

What is your perception about career women in marriages?

Personally I could never feel complete, satisfied, fulfilled or happy by sitting home 24/7. I’m very ambitious person, i love challenges, my mind works extremely fast, I’m restless business-minded woman and I don't see how a healthy marriage can affect my personal progress. Your man should support you, advice you, motivate you, encourage you, be proud of you, help you grow into better person by each and every day not control you or lock you in the kitchen. Remember, you are his partner not his child or a maid. Only frustrated, insecure, weak men will try to stop their women from their own professional progress. That's not love!

BOKO HARAM: CHRISTIANS WILL SOON TAKES UP ARMS....OLABAYO

Primate Ayodele Olabayo, the General-Overseer of the Yahweh Church has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to get a grip of this country. The Cleric, who once warned against insurgents taking over some parts of Nigeria said, he told them something needs to be done back then to avert all the misfortunes the country now faces, but no one listened to him. In his chat the City People magazine, he said:

“The President has to be careful with the way he runs this country. “Those in government don’t even think of the poor people any longer. To start with, people are suffering, people are dying. Early this year, I spoke about these security problems that something needed to be done. I spoke about the Insurgency, Terrorism, they didn’t take this serious. The militants are involved in what is happening in the North.”

“All they are after and working towards is that they don’t want elections to take place there. And all these evil people are not being checked. Worst things are happening. People are not talking. Churches are being burnt; nothing is being done about it. It is not that we Christians can’t fight back or retaliate. It’s because we fear the Lord. It will get to a stage now where we would not agree any longer. Enough is enough. President Jonathan should stop all these nonsense before it consumes us all. I am afraid for him. He should stop all these killing of Christians and burning of churches. Enough is enough”.
