Finally the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday registered Atiku Abubakar’s floated political party, the Peoples Democratic
Movement (PDM), and the Independent Democrats (ID) making the two new political parties in the
country.
Mrs Chinwe Ogakwu, Secretary
of the Commission further stated that the two new parties were
registered in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of
the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as Amended) and the Electoral Act 2010 (as
Amended).
The statement further
indicated that the Constitution, Manifesto, Logo, Flag and list of National
Executive Officers of both parties have also been approved by the
Commission.
