POLICEMAN ARRESTED IN LAGOS FOR KILLING A MOTORCYCLIST


The  Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, has called for calm to enable police authorities wade into the matter and ensure that justice is served.He made this call to the families and people of Ikorodu, Lagos state , where a police officer shot and killed one late Olalekan Ajayi on Wednesday.
He also directed the state Commissioner of Police to take proper steps to ensure that justice was expeditiously done on the matter.
However,Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, confirmed the arrest of the officer in a statement, but did not disclose his identity.
He said, the police officer linked with the killing of the late Olalekan Ajayi has been arrested, detained and is presently undergoing investigation.
“The IGP condoles with the bereaved relations, friends and colleagues of the late Ajayi.
“While promising that the force will do its utmost best to ensure that the investigation into the death is properly done and concluded in record time, the IGP calls on all aggrieved persons to remain calm and patient.

“He has, therefore directed the state Commissioner of Police to take proper steps to ensure that justice is expeditiously done on the matter.”
