Former
president Olusegun Obasanjo has enjoined Christians to participate actively in
politics or risk having those he described as ‘evil ones’ running the affairs
of the country.
Speaking on
Sunday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Mr. Obasanjo warned Christians against being
indifferent towards politics as it would not augur well for the country.
While
thanking God during the fifth anniversary thanksgiving service of the Chapel of
Christ the Glorious King, a religious arm of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential
Library , of which he is the Chief Promoter, the former President said, “I want
to say here that Christians should participate
in politics. We should not leave politics in the hands of the evil ones who cannot offer this country any good”.

Earlier in
his sermon delivered on the occasion, the former president of the Nigerian
Baptist Convention, Reverend Ola Akande, described the former president as a
rare and special gift to
