BASHORUN BAYO AWOSANYA: A CASE OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMAN

In one of my earlier blog, I wrote that if your lover or your husband has turned you into a punch bag, the best thing to do is to pack your bag and baggage’s, bid the relationship bye-bye. The simple reason for this is that a violence man will remain violent.

Of recent, the case of violence against women seems to be the latest pride among men. The case of Governor Sullivan Chime and that of his beautiful wife, Clara Chime is still fresh in my memory, when she  raised an alarm that her husband imprisoned her and that her two psychiatrists, Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumuo, had prescribed “all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations,”

Akolade Arowolo, who was found of guilty of stabbing his wife, Titilayo 76 times on  the 24th June, 2011 at their residence, 8 Akindeinde Street, Isolo, Lagos, both were in a relationship that was characterised by domestic violence.

Bashorun Bayo Awosanya,   APC chieftain in Ogun state is the latest wife beater, who was involved in domestic violence with his wife, that almost resulted in the loss her life, but for the timely intervention of the gate-man.

According to the sources, the incident occurred at his Sagamu GRA residence, around 8.30pm on the 20th of April 2014 (easter sunday),   when Bashorun returned angrily from a house-warming party and accused his wife of not attending the party with him. ‘’And before the wife could give a meaningful excuse, he pounced on her and started beating her blue and black as has been his regular act. Sensing danger, the wife made for an escape through the staircase, where he caught up with her, and started hitting her head on the glass railings, and strangulating her.’’
The wife is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
