ALISON-MADUEKE'S FAMILY ANGRY WITH DELE MOMODU OVER DIEZANI'S LATEST PICTURE

The family of Diezani Alison-Madueke, the embattled former minister petroleum, is angry with Nigerian journalist Dele Momodu for taking her photograph while on  sick bed in UK hospital.

Alison-Madueke’s lawyer, Oscar Onwudiwe, stated that the former minister never planned or approved anything from that meeting to be broadcast to the public.

Onwudiwe said that Momodu, publisher of The Boss magazine, “met (with Diezani) on a personal visit with the family.” The lawyer added that the journalist and the family have had a good relationship in the past.

The lawyer Onwudiwe restated that the family didn’t give any permission to take Alison-Madueke’s photo. He noted that the ex-minister’s family became “very upset” about what has emerged after the meeting between Nigerian journalist and the ex-minister.

The revelations done by the former petroleum minister in the interview have caused national controversy. During the interview Diezani rejected ever stealing money while in government.

When Momodu was contacted he said he did not know who Oscar Onwudiwe was, noting that he therefore could not have sought authorization from the lawyer.
He added: “I do not want to be drawn into this controversy.”

Nigeria’s former petroleum minister, who was arrested in London on suspicion of bribery and money laundering earlier in October, recently asked Nigerians to pray for her in support of her alleged fight against cancer.
