BOKO HARAM: STOP THE BLAME GAME AND MAKE OUR DEAR COUNTRY BETTER AND SAFER

14 April, 2014, Monday morning rushing hour at a bus station on the outskirts of Abuja, a deadliest attack by a terrorist group called Boko Haram claimed the life of least 71 people, while 124 people were critically wounded according to police.

Boko Haram,i,e’ book is not good’ to me are group of terrorist that need to be wipe of society with  immediate effect, if not we as a Nigerian are sitting on a gun powder.

The Boko Haram violence has cost more than 1,500 lives already this year alone and these sadistic killing only affected the poor of the poor in the society who never embezzled or take part in the running of the government.

It would also be recalled that Scores of students travelling to write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in Borno State were reportedly killed by the Boko Haram sect in attacks on four towns. The towns included Dikwa, Kala Balge, Gambulga and Gwoza. What a senseless killing of innocent future generations of our dear country. In Yobe State, north-eastern Nigeria, unknown gunmen was reported to have opened fire in a mosque, killing no fewer than 20 worshippers while praying.

Muslim clerics who preach against their extremist doctrine were also were also been threaten by the militants. Then if the Muslim clerics were been threaten and Muslim brothers were slaughter daily, who are then this Boko Haram?

It would also good to remind the public that this dreaded group are in the past attacked schools, churches, police stations, even United Nation headquarters in Abuja were people lost their lives!

On Sunday 13, April, 2014, a Boko Haram suspect in detention at the SSS headquarters attempted to disarm a security operative when they were being served breakfast. My question is how come? This act will show us that this sect was highly trained in the terrorist war-fare and the security arms need to tackle them ruthlessly.

However, as a concerned citizen of this great nation i supported the call made by Senator Abaribe, by ‘calling on the security agencies to step up their game and be more proactive, because the country cannot continue in this way. The blame game should be over. The security agencies must step up their game and be more proactive. The country is indeed bleeding of the blood of her innocent ones who are daily being cut down by the evil minds.’

Please make our dear country a better and a safer place to be.

JOKE SILVA : CELEBRITY OF THE WEEK

Joke Silva , an actress, theatre practitioner, producer, mother, wife and a role model to younger generation.  A wife of veteran actor, Olu Jacobs, Joke is renowned for the memorable roles she has played both off and on screen.

Joke believe that ‘’God created the universe with the two opposite sexes. He didn’t create the woman to be subordinate to the man. He created her to be a helpmate to the man. ‘’

What make this ageless, beautiful personality swim above the tides are ''the family always comes first in everything I’m doing. There is what is called prioritising, what needs attention at a particular point. Is it work, family or your husband? They rarely do need attention at the same time, thank God, so you give attention to whatever needs attention at whatever point in time''

PAUL BIYA: ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF BAD LEADERSHIP IN AFRICA

Paul  Biya is currently the longest ruling Non-Royal head of state in the world, the 80+ years old  guy became president of Cameroon nation 31 years ago when his predecessor, Ahmadou Ahijo, resigned.

Paul Biya who has a reportedly huge personal fortune between $200 to $300 million according to Foreignpolicy.com He has rigged the term limit laws twice to make sure he stays in power.

The Cameroonian president is said to be the richest man in Cameroon. According to a French online newspaper, Rue 89, Paul Biya’s vacation was over the top more expensive than that of the American President.

He was widely criticized for having rented a villa for 30,000 euros per day in August 2009. Cameroon is one of the poorest countries in the world (with $2,257 GDP per capita as of 2011) with 48% of its population living below the poverty line.

Cameroon has one of the best-endowed primary commodity economies in sub-Saharan Africa. Still, it faces many of the serious problems confronting other underdeveloped countries, such as stagnant per capita income, a relatively inequitable distribution of income, a top-heavy civil service, endemic corruption, and a generally unfavourable climate for business enterprise.

According to history, Biya rose to prominence under President Ahmadou Ahidjo. However, when Ahidjo unexpectedly announced his resignation on 4 November 1982, the baton was passed unto Biya, while he succeeded him as President of Cameroon on 6 November.1982.

In 1983 a deep rift was said to have developed between the duos. Ahidjo went into exile in France, and from there he publicly accused Biya of abuse of power and paranoia about plots against him.

It was gathered that the two could not be reconciled despite efforts by several foreign leaders.
In the October 2011 presidential election, Biya secured a sixth term in office, polling 77.9% of votes cast.

NURUDEEN LEMU STAND TALL AMONG THE DELEGATES: LET RESPECT THE RULE OF LAW

SINCE the commencement of debate at the ongoing national conference, the speech delivered by Alhaji  Nurudeen Lemu, a delegate from the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, is something I will love to share willingly with Nigerian youths and old brigades as well; you will now agree with me  that the youths of this country have a lot to offer in term of proffer solutions to the current problems facing our dear country.

Enjoy Alhaji  Nurudeen Lemu’s speech: ‘As a delegate, and as a people representing people of faith in God from the Islamic perspective, one thing we believe is that God will protect the community that stands for justice even if they are not Muslims and God will not protect the community that goes contrary to justice even if they call themselves Muslims.

God is not a religious bigot. He is not a male chauvinist. He is not an ethnocentric tribalist. God is not the oppressor of anyone. God is with those who care; those who want for others those things they want for themselves.

One tendency for people who claim to follow a religion is to slide into the position of believing that we are better than the others. We overestimate our virtues and underestimate the goodness in others. The tendency is for us to become spiritually arrogant; to forget that others are people like us.

There is always a tension between representing our religious communities or our ethnic communities and our loyalty to the virtues and values and teachings of our religion even those lofty ideals of our ethnic groups.

It is our prayer that delegates will try and ensure that the spiritual strength we have in us will keep us from not getting angry and not allowing our bitterness from others to make us sail from justice. It is in this vein and as a delegate from the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, we condemn the murder of all Christians, we condemn the murder of all Muslims. Not because they are Christians or Muslims, but because they are human beings – creatures of God.

There is no compulsion in religion. We all own Nigeria. We all belong here. And we all have the right to self-determination. We should respect that right and do unto others what we will do unto ourselves.

There are many other countries that have ethnic and religious diversity far greater than what we have here in Nigeria. But something that distinguishes us from them, be it Singapore, United States, they have been able to respect the rule of law so that any bigot, any nepotic individual who tramples on the right of anyone especially that of the minority, the rule of law will catch up. Satan will only find a hole if there is a crack in that rule of law.

Every ethnic group is an oppressed minority somewhere. Every group is a religious and ethnic minority somewhere. Every majority or settler is an indigene somewhere. In one way, we are all settlers; we just don’t remember where we came from or why we came.

But ultimately, we are all visitors to this planet, from God we come and to Him we return. As Muslim delegates, we come in brotherhood, as brothers and friends to solve our common problems and not as adversaries.

We come against the exploitation of religion and religious sentiments. We come against stereotyping, stigmatizing and dehumanizing of each other. We come against the use of religion as a political decoy and as a distraction from the critical things that bedevil our nation.

I pray that at the end of this conference, we will all grow in our humanity and respect for each other.’

NATIONAL CONFAB: A PLACE WHERE OUR ELDER PLAYING SCRABBLE WITH OUR FURURE

Nigeria future is definitely in the hand of Almighty God. When President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan announced this ‘Orchestra’ called National confab, yours sincerely was among the bloggers that faulted it. Simply because it’s going to  be the same ten and ten pence; that is to say, the same old brigades that have mismanaged the resources of our dear  country  will  still be the same sets of people that will dominate that place.

Thanks for the 21st century technology, with your phone, you can now record video, take photograph, record voice mail and send the same within a tinkle of an eye to the whole world to see, hence the secret of all so called super permanent secretaries this, top lawyers that are now open to the general public as they are all tired brain that need to leave the stage for younger once to perform.

How can an elderly citizen that his people or group sent to a place of this magnitude to lend his voice to issues that is threaten our existence as a  country be playing scrabble while meaningful topics were been discoursed?

As one commentator put it: ‘What u are seeing here today, is a reflection of what is happening in most of our presidential villa, ministries, government house, secretariat and other public offices. And they will never want to resign so they could give room for the youth to go in. They still want to die there. As far as those old fools are still in the public offices, the issue of unemployment will always be a problem to Nigerian’’.

Another one jokingly wrote: ‘’Instead of him to sleep like his mate he choose to play scrabble what a shame... This old man is playing scrabble with our future, may God help us all. What a world we are today’’,

My question is, when will Nigeria and Nigerian get it right where things are getting worst day in and day out ?

OBVIOUS CRUELTY AGAINST ANIMAL: SIN OF 'SIR DAVID SCHOLEY' IN FAR AWAY AFRICA!!!

This is Millionaire Banker, Tory Advisor and member and supporter of Countryside Alliance Sir David Scholey.
He is one of many wealthy individuals who are willing to spend in excess of £60,000 for the privilege of shooting a lion in South Africa. These lions are bred to be shot in so called canned hunting operations which have grown significantly in South Africa over the last decade.
They breed the lions from cubs often bringing in tourist to play and walk with them boasting on their conservation work. The young animals are then prepared to be released into shooting areas where they will be brought out via meat baits in front of the guns of so called trophy hunters. In many cases the shooters will have been drinking and will blast wounding the animal many times before its killed.
Some operations even allow the use of high powered bow and arrows to kill lions. To make matters worse the hunt operations will provide the head and skin of the lion for use as a rug and a wall trophy and keep the bones which they will then sell into the Asian medicine trade at great profit.
This trade is leading to a huge increase in the poaching of wild lions across Africa (little over 200,000 left). None of this seems to worry Mr Scholey who seems very proud of his kill.
The Countryside Alliance and US National Rifle Associations are vey happy for their members to participate in these trophy hunts despite the obvious cruelty and its impact on the future of a threatened species. Next time the Countryside Alliance start attacking the RSPCA don't forget to ask them when they will throw out African trophy hunters from their membership like David Scholey.
