NIGERIAN NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION IS A CULT

Senator Jim Nwobodo, former Governor of old Anambra State and member National Conference Committee on Energy, has painted a sorry situation of the power problem in the country, saying that many people do not want to come to Nigeria for any business because of the situation.

Describing the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, as a cult, he said: “NNPC is cult, it is what we know and it is not good for this country. Many people do not know what is happening in NNPC. We must take the issue of power very seriously.”

Jim Nwobodo, revelations need to look into critically because he must know better as a former governor, a former minister, a former senator and even as a current member of  National Conference.

WONDERMAN: 30 KIDS WITH 11 WOMEN !!!

“I’m done!”   That was the words from 33-year-old Knoxville, Tenn., resident Desmond Hatchett ,  who has reportedly set a Knox County record for his ability to reproduce.  According to the news, he has 30 children with 11 women then. And nine of those children were born between 2009-2012.

However, it was gathered that Desmond vowed in a 2009 TV interview, saying he wouldn’t father more children. Why not?

Hatchett , according to the news is  struggling to make ends meet on his minimum-wage job. His inability to make child-support payments on such a meagre salary also means he’s back in court again and again, most recently to ask for a break on those payments.

“Yes, we’ve got several cases with Mr. Hatchett,” Melissa Gibson, an assistant supervisor with the Knox County child support clerk’s office, said with a sigh.Under the law, there’s nothing officials can do to force Hatchett to keep his pants on.Gibson  said “If there’s something out there like that, I’m unaware of it,”  before adding, “It definitely needs to be.”

Gibson said Hatchett is believed to hold the Knox County record for most children. Gibson went further to say that she couldn’t say whether any of his children receive public assistance. The youngest is a toddler; the oldest is 14 (16 years) now 2014.

According to law, when Hatchett is working, he is required to turn over 50% of his wages for child support — the maximum allowed under law. Child support payments are based in part on the ages and needs of the children. Some of the mothers of Hatchett’s children get only $1.49 a month!.

COUNTRY IN DARKNESS:NIGERIA'S ELECTRICITY GENERATION HAS DROPPED

NIGERIA'S electricity generation has dropped to 1,714.89 Megawatts Hour/Hour (MWH/H) as at yesterday, compared with 3,563 generated in December last year, 2013.

The country’s electricity generation since the inception of the Jonathan government is so bad that nothing good can be writing about.

The current drop in electricity generation may not be unconnected to electricity bottleneck such as the prolongation of Interim Rules Period (IRP), this was the position of the Chairman of Presidential Taskforce on Power, Beks Dagogo-Jack, said recently that there was every indication that the IRP designated to terminate on March 1, 2014 or “such other time as the commission may designate” shall not occur on the said date.
‘’He went further to say that  the prolonged Interim Rules Order (IRO) and continued delay in the declaration of Transitional Electricity Market Stage (TEM) could encourage the power Distribution Companies (Discos) to engage in avoidable sharp practices especially those with “favourable” minimum monthly invoice settlement conditions.

He explained that the Discos may be collecting a lot more and yet short-changing the market ...a situation which could seriously threaten service delivery sustenance owing to mounting unpaid upstream liabilities which can cause a serious decline in gas and generation availability in a matter of months, such that sustaining even 3000MW on the grid could become a herculean task under these conditions .

He said that deliverable milestones contained in the very bold and ambitious Nigeria Power Sector Reform Roadmap launched had been achieved except two, which are the declaration by the Minister of Power of the TEM that would kick-start a fully contracted and rules-governed electricity market wherein the sanctity of contracts shall be full to protect market liquidity, and incentivise increased investment and a well incentivised and liberalised domestic gas market expected to be delivered by the pending Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).

Dagogo-Jack hinted that conscious of the risks associated with handing over the companies for privatised company operation without TEM or a substitute, the Presidential Task Force on Power made repeated representations to the Ministry of Power, Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) leading eventually to an acceptance by NERC to develop and institute a set of interim rules to conduct the market in the pre-TEM phase. Such would be done until the declaration of TEM with a commitment that the IRP shall not be in operation for more than three months.
Dagogo-Jack noted that unfortunately the IRO issued by NERC in December 2013 appears to have some significant sources of concern which are capable of impacting very negatively with the sustainability of the market especially as it appears the IRP would stretch much longer than the three months originally committed to by NERC.
He noted that a key implication of the non-declaration of TEM was the necessary suspension of all the industry agreements and contracts between the trading parties. “The main effect of this during the IRP is that the market participants (gas suppliers , Gencos , TCN , Discos , MO , NBET ) have no enforceable and fully risk-allocated contractual basis for extracting performance from one another.”

I would never allow Beks Dagogo-Jack , to fool me with his technical jargons; Interim Rules Period (IRP), prolonged Interim Rules Order (IRO), Transitional Electricity Market Stage (TEM), Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB). Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) etc.etc , all what Nigerian are asking for is regular and uninterrupted power supply.

PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN:WHERE ARE THIS MISSING 100 SCHOOL GIRLS?

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) admitted yesterday that troops were still looking for the 100 out of the 129 girls abducted by Boko Haram at the Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.

Defence Information Director, Major-General Chris Olukolade, made the clarifications in a statement said: “The controversy that has been generated around the efforts at securing the lives of the abducted students of Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok is unfortunate.

“The ongoing frantic efforts of security forces along with vigilante groups, including, hunters working to locate and free the abducted students have continued to be keenly monitored at the Operation Centre of the Defence and Army Headquarters as regular progress reports are being received from troops on the ground.
”In this regard, a report was filed in from the field indicating that a major breakthrough had been recorded in the search.  There was no reason to doubt this official channel; hence the information was released to the public immediately.
“Surprisingly however, the school principal, one of the sources quoted in the report, has denied all that was attributed to her – for whatever reasons.
“This is an unfortunate development, indeed, yet the Defence Headquarters would not want to joinhttp://cdncache1-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png issues with anyone.

”It has to be reaffirmed however, that the report forwarded to the public on this issue was in good principal and government of Borno State.

“Like all other citizens, the military is deeply concerned to ensure that the students are safe and freed alive.  There is indeed no reason to playhttp://cdncache1-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png politics with the precious lives of the students.  The number of those still missing is not the issue now as the life of every Nigerian is very precious.

”In the light of the denial by the principal of the school, the Defence Headquarters wishes to defer to the school principal and governor’s statement on the number of students still missing and retract that aspect of earlier statement while the search continues.”

The statement of Major-General Chris Olukolade, is very interesting, a two-star general, released a vital information to the whole world without confirming its authenticity, very interesting indeed! The information is misleading and it’s hurt the parents and genera public concerned. Is this another government propaganda or abracadabra to cover something up?

The security operatives need to look, search and rescue these kids, had it been that President Jonathan’s daughter is among these missing kids, would Major-General Olukolade made such false propaganda statement?

TOP COP RAPE SAGA: WHO WILL NOW INVESTIGATE THE INVESTIGATOR?

This is a very long story; however, as Nollywood top flight actress Patience Osokwor, will put it, ‘the story is always long’, be that as it may, I will begin it anywhere.

Idowu Akinwunmi,  31, cook, a citizen of Benin Republic, alleged that she was raped ,extorted, and threatened by  the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Onikan Station, SP Adekunle Awe.The victim said that the incident occurred on April 15, 2014.

According to her story, she explained that on April 14 she was arrested by the police for “spurious” reasons.
This was how she narrated her story:“I work at an eatery on Keffi Street, Obalende, as a cook. The eatery also has a tailor’s shop in the compound and it belongs to the same person. There is also a quarters where we all live in the compound.“Most of the workers are from Cotonou, Benin Republic. On Monday, a popular customer, known as Friday, came to eat. He later left, but some moments later, he returned to say he could not get a bus home.

“Friday had been making advances at me, but we were not a couple. I allowed him to sleep over.”

“My madam called policemen to arrest all of us. I had only a pair of shorts, a shirt and a wrapper on. I had N11, 000 in my pocket and my phone was not with me. On getting to the station, I got the phone of a policewoman and used it to call one of the tailors to come and help.

“In the morning of Tuesday, two tailors, Ben and Matthias, arrived to bail out their friends, but they were also arrested, bringing our total number to six.”

“I met the DPO along the corridor. He asked me what happened and I explained everything to him.

“Around 10pm on Tuesday, the DPO sent a policeman to call Friday and I. I was wearing boxers and a top. I stayed at the counter and Friday went in to see the DPO. A few minutes later, Friday came out and the DPO called me in.

“The DPO said he could make sure that I spent the rest of my life in jail, but I begged him. He then came close to me and started rubbing his hands all over my body but I rejected his advances.

“He said my boss had told him that he could do whatever he wanted to do with me. He said since I was from Benin Republic, if he killed me, nothing would happen. “He said he would also make sure that the remaining five suspects would be sent to prison.

Since I was afraid for my life, I allowed the DPO to have his way. “I begged him to use a condom, but he refused. He pushed me to a smaller room in his office and put me on the bed and had sex with me. Immediately after he had finished, he told me to shower in a bathroom inside his office.”

“The DPO gave me his telephone number and asked for mine, but I didn’t give it to him. He then said I could leave and promised that no one would collect bail money from us. However, on getting to the counter, the policemen on duty collected N30, 000 from us,” she said

Idowu, claimed that after she was released from the police detention, she went straight to the Lagos Island Maternity Clinic to do a test

A copy of the medical report, signed by one Dr. R. A. Seriki, stated, “A complaint of sexual assault: General clinical condition satisfactory; no laceration, no bruises, no areas of hyperemia, negative for HIV 1 and 2, pregnancy negative. Has been placed on PEP and emergency contraception.”

The matter was said to have been reported at the Area A Police Command, Lion Building, after which the Area Commander, ACP Imohimi Edgal, invited the victim for interrogation. And that the matter had been transferred to the office of the Commissioner of Police for further investigation.

Dr. Josephine Effah-Chukwumah, Director, Project Alert on Violence Against Women, said “The fact that there were no bruises does not mean that rape did not occur. The moment there is a direct threat to life on the condition of sex, the offence is rape. It is unacceptable.”

This alleged rape case of Idowu Akinwunmi and the DPO, will never see the light of the day! Am not saying that police will not investigate the matter but we would not hear anything concrete about it again.  The similar  rape case was levelled against popular ‘fuji’ musician Abas Akande aka Obesere by a 29-year-old business woman, Miss Olanike Olaiya, in his Okota residence. Majority of the women that made comments about the incident then called Olanike a prostitute or gold digger, etc. Now what will you call this poor cook! The ‘Oga’ at the top ‘killed’ the case. Now the question is: Who will investigate the investigator?

However, The National Coordinator, NOPRIN, Mr Okechukwu Nwanguma who condemned the rape, said: “NOPRIN condemns the attempt by some police officers at Area A Command, Lion Building to block the victim from lodging a complaint of the rape with the Area Commander and collecting a police report to go for medical examination.”

POINT BLANK: ALL NIGERIA HEADLINE NEWS IS OLD NEWS

Fela Kuti, was a prophet of God!  Either you like it or not, that is my concluded idea about this icon per excellence. Fela, aka Baba 70, sang a song sometime ago it goes does: ‘’I sing a song sometime ago, I call am confusion.....My people say Nigeria don dey! Me as I see am, I know say Nigeria go go down! How country go dey make money, make him people no dey see money?’’

This song now prompts me to write that all the headline news from Nigeria, the most populous black nation on earth is all old, old news.

When we talk about corruptions in the high government level, that is no longer news, all of us witnessed Lawan Farouk vs Femi Otedola, Princess Odua BMW scandal is still fresh in my own memory, while the Police Pension fraud is not news we can brush aside. Etc.

Kidnapping, that is the in thing in Nigeria, a very lucrative business that pays in millions! Mike Ezekome, Ngozi Okonjo-Iwela’s mum, Chief Edwin Clark‘s son to mention just a few were victims of this devilish headlines.

Deceits, Lies and propaganda, which is an area Nigeria politicians and government apologist, were good at.  I will love to corroborate this with a statement made by Lt Col A.K Togun to airport correspondents of the Guardian on 27 October 1986. In the interview, when asked about Dele Giwa's killing and the suspicion in the public that he was killed by the government, Togun was quoted as saying "...one person cannot come out to blackmail us. I am an expert in blackmail. I can blackmail very well. I studied propaganda so no one person can come and blackmail us after an agreement..."

Another lie that is very hot was the statement credited to Army Chief on Boko Haram Kidnapping of no fewer than 100 female students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State, were on Monday night abducted by members of the outlawed militant Islamic sect. In which

Brigadier General Chris Olukolade had on Wednesday issued a statement claiming that 107 of the kidnapped SSS-3 girls had been freed.

His statement reads thus: “More students of the Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok have been freed this evening in the ongoing search and rescue operations to free  the abducted students with this development, the principal of the school confirmed that only eight of the students are still missing. One of the terrorists who carried out the attack on the school has also been captured. Efforts are underway to locate the remaining 8 students.”

However, Mrs. Asabe Kwambura, , the principal of GGSS Chibok , faulted Brigadier Olukolade  information and  denied ever feeding him with such figure, she insisted that only 14 of the abducted girls had been freed as announced earlier by Governor Kashim Shettima.

Mrs. Kwambura,  said  thus:“There is nothing in the statement issued by the military that is true about our abducted girls. Up till now, we are still waiting and praying for the safe return of the students; all I know is that we have only 14 of them, and the security people, especially the vigilante and the well-meaning volunteers of Gwoza, are still out there searching for them. The military people too are in the bush searching. So we have not received any information that they have the students yet. So let it be clear that all the information passed on through the media by the military concerning 107 girls is not true. I, as the principal, did not give anybody any figure on released students other than what His Excellency, Governor Kashim Shettima had informed the media,”

Murder this is also old news, Chief Bola Ige was murdered in our very own eyes in Nigeria. Funsho Williams, Chief Alfred Rewane, Chief Bisoye Teju-Osho, Dele Giwa etc ,etc.

Bad road, electricity problem, housing issues, low standard of education; raping, stealing, armed robbery, ritual,Pen robbery, fraud at the high level in the banking sector, Cecila Ibru is a good example. All are old news.

Justice delay is said to be justice denial, which is also the case of fraud levelled against Erastus Akingbola, born again Christian and Redeemed Church Pastor. ‘Akingbola  who is standing trial on a 22-count charge of conspiracy and stealing of N47.1bn belonging to the Intercontinental Bank (now Access Bank Plc), at the Lagos High Court, Ikeja, was earlier arraigned before Justice Habeeb Abiru in 2011 and later to transferred to Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo when Justice Abiru was elevated to the Court of Appeal; however, the third judge, Justice Lawal Akapo is the third judge who took over following the transfer of Onigbanjo to the commercial court, from the criminal court of the Lagos Judiciary.’

This is a pure case of justice delay is justice denial, because N47.1 bn is not a small amounts of money, all the owners of this money cannot wait any longer for Akingbola and co. to be enjoying what they did not work for. This was also old news.
