WHY I DUMPED PEOPLES' DEMOCRATIC PARTY.... OBASANJO

As criticisms and commendations continue to trail his dramatic exit of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo from the People’s Democratic Party, former President has explained how he arrived at the decision to dump the party to which he belonged for 16 years.

However, in a telephone interview, Obasanjo explained that; “They were concerned that I had only one leg in the party, and worried that since I’m their leader in the ward, they need to hear from me,” the former President said.

According to him, when the party members arrived his residence, they were singing a song in Yoruba Language “Nigeria yi ti gbobgo wa ni, Ko ma gbodo ba je. Eje ka sowopo kajo gbega (Meaning – Nigeria belongs to all of us, we must not allow it to be destroyed and we must join hands to make it great).
Mr. Obasanjo said when they settled down he sought to know why they came and that it was at that point that Mr. Oladunjoye told him that since he (Obasanjo) as their leader became angry with the PDP and remained inactive in the party, they had not only lost sense of direction but also worried about their political future.
He also said the party members informed him that the leadership in the state was planning to expel him and that they wondered what would happen to them if he was expelled because they would become rudderless.

“You are our leader and it is you we are following. You have remained a card-carrying member of the the party. But since you became angry with the party we have lost sense of direction and now we are hearing that they want to expel you. If they expel you, where do we go? What do we do?” Mr. Obasanjo quoted the ward chairman as saying.

The former president explained that it was at that point that he gave them his PDP membership card and told them that they could do whatever they want with it.

He said, “In my response, I said when you people came you were singing a song and I agreed that Nigeria is our own. If the issue is the party, I will not choose the party at the detriment of Nigeria and I will fight for Nigeria even at the detriment of the party. I will rather surrender my membership of the party so you people can move on politically,” Mr. Obasanjo explained to Premium Times.

“If you people’s worry is that I’m a card-carrying member of the party and I’m not showing you people direction and you are worried that I’m neither here nor there, this is the card; you can keep it, you can burn it or you can tear it, do whatever you want to do with it.”

The former president said he then handed over his membership card to Mr. Oladunjoye, who immediately decided on his own to shred it.

Mr. Obasanjo said he had no regrets for his action despite the criticisms that have greeted it.

ST.NICHOLAS HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT REUNITES ACCIDENT VICTIM WITH HIS FAMILY.. SAYS HE RAN AWAY FROM HOME !!!

Owolabi Oladujoye, an accident victim that occurred on the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, later rescued from the scene by a Good Samaritan who took him to St. Nicholas Hospital, but could not be identified as he was unconscious, has eventually reunited his family.

According to PUNCH, a house-keeper at the hospital, Rasak Yusuf, decided to search for Owolabi’s relatives.

He said,
“After I had interacted with him for about a week, he told me he worked with one Baba Ibeji as a bus conductor. So, after taking his picture with my BlackBerry phone, I searched for this Baba Ibeji, who could link us with his relatives. It was my off day and I did it voluntarily. I went to Bolade Park in Oshodi and asked for Baba Ibeji. I was asked to go to Sango. At Sango, I was asked to go back to Oshodi and go to another park.”

He said after wandering around for hours, he met a man who took him to a ghetto in Oshodi. He said despite fear for his safety, his perseverance paid off as he met someone who claimed to be a friend of the victim and took him to his aunt who lived in Oshodi.

The aunt, Adeola Lukman, in turn contacted the family in Ede, Osun State. It was gathered that Owolabi ran away from home in January 2015, after collecting N200 from his mother on the pretext that he was going to Ile Ife.
His mother, Rahmot, said she first learnt that he was involved in an accident on a radio station. The mother of five said Owolabi was to write his final school examinations when he absconded from home. She said,

“His father died in 1994. He raises funds for his education, doing menial jobs. But on January 4, 2015 he said he wanted to travel to work and needed transport money. The next day, I gave him N200. He said it was not enough, but I told him to manage it. He and his friend then vanished. The next time I called him, I was hearing ‘Obalende,-Oshodi’ at the background and when I queried him, he quickly cut off the phone. I called back, and he begged me to forgive him that if I knew he was coming to Lagos, I would not allow him.He promised to return three days later, but suddenly, he became unreachable as he lost his phone. I came to Lagos to look for him after I didn’t hear from him three days later.”
She said it was while waiting anxiously for his return that she learnt of the accident on the radio.Owolabi told our correspondent he ran away from home in search of money. He said,

“I was a bus conductor in the vehicle that had accident and we were going to Oshodi.
I ran away from home because I needed to raise money. I want to return to school once I leave here.”
The Administration Manager of St. Nicholas Hospital, Mr. Kunle Bamigboye, said the hospital planned torehabilitate the victim and assist in his education.

He said,
“The hospital cannot put value on what has been spent on him. “He was in the Intensive Care Unit, 24 hours care, and a lot of things were involved. Ever since he was stabilized, we have taken him as our responsibility. We decided to handle his treatment without asking for money because it was an emergency, and that is how it should be. It was after the treatment we discovered he had no means of identification. The hospital will rehabilitate him and we are perfecting discussions with his family.”

OBANIKORO'S NOMINATION IS ENDORSEMENT OF LAWLESSNESS & ABUSE

The All Progressives Congress, Lagos State chapter has described as laughable the inclusion of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, in the ministerial nominees’ list sent to the National Assembly for consideration by President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to the statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, wondered what value a minister who recently resigned from the Federal Executive Council would add to the nation….Excerpt from the statement read,

“Is Musiliu Obanikoro the only Lagosian qualified to serve in the Federal Executive Council? As a Minister, Obanikoro recently left the Jonathan cabinet to pursue a failed governorship ambition. “Why is it that the President has turned the(FEDERAL EXECUTIVES COUNCIL) FEC to a games’ room and not for serious-minded personalities? Is the nomination Jonathan’s way of placating the former minister who lost the PDP governorship ticket in a primary that returned more ballot than the number of accredited delegates?”

The party noted that in a civilized country, Obanikoro would be investigated for his alleged role in the rigging of the Ekiti State elections which was purportedly recorded on audio.

“How does one explain the nomination of a character who as a serving minister has been linked to the audio tape recording of a meeting where plots were perfected to rig the June 21, 2014 governorship poll in Ekiti State?

“Should a President, who has respect for the rule of law, nominate such a character to serve as minister again or recommend him to the appropriate security agency for investigation and prosecution?

“We in the APC are of the view that the nomination is President Jonathan’s endorsement of lawlessness and abuse.

“Obanikoro’s screening by the National Assembly will be closely monitored and the APC believes it will not be a ‘bow and go’ affair for Obanikoro at the upper legislative chamber.”

OBASANJO IS A FATHER ...AND IS OUR FATHER...SULE LAMIDO

Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, has said :

“Baba is more than a party man. He is an icon, a national symbol and a leader and an inventor, a creator of all the institutions today in Nigeria from the presidency to the governors, who are his own sons, are all his creations. And so, when a father is angry with his own children, we will only say we are sorry to him. But then we cannot be renounced for whatever it is.

“No matter what we are, we may not be able to live up to his expectations. We might have made some mistakes, but abandoning us is not the solution because the country is first before anything else. So, he is our baba even up to the president. Baba is our baba no matter what. He is angry with us, but then, what do we do? He gave us the life at a time when Nigerians were fighting us, he stood for us.

“Since 2011, in 2007, he stood firm for us. He is our father. And so, if we made some mistakes, we are only human because we are heading human institutions. And I think by the time he reflects, how could he abandon his own children like that. Wherever we are, we are right in his heart. He feels for us, he cares for us,” he said

I WILL FLEE THE COUNTRY IF APC GETS INTO POWER....BODE GEORGE

Chief Olabode George has said he will flee the country if APC gets into power. He dropped this hint  while speaking with  Punch. Says…..‘’If Bola Tinubu finds his way into national government, I will go on exile. He hasn’t the temerity and the calmness of mind. They don’t even know what to do in power. Because the vice-president is his boy, he will just order that Bode George should be picked up. He said soldiers came to him but he must have been dreaming. When he said soldiers had surrounded his house, I drove down there because my house is not too far from there.

I know the hierarchy of the military and its behavior. That they surrounded his house is lie number one because on either side of his house are two buildings. There is also one at the back. So, I wondered where the soldiers were hiding. Why would you lie for public consumption? So when I got down there, I knew that his spin doctors were working. These days people go on the social media and the story went viral. Why would he (President Goodluck Jonathan) from Abuja, be running after Bola? Let them be very careful about the statements they are making. More so, if Obasanjo is now linking Jonathan with what happened in Cote d’Ivoire and coup; not in this 21st Century. That is past and gone forever. No nation goes through this kind of tribulation twice and survive. We have had our own experience of Civil War and I pray that God does not direct our minds in that direction and our people have to watch their mouths.

Father of beautiful girl who won 2015 PZ CUSSON cries out as wife represent him with another man

Oluyinka Davids holding his daughter
Oluyinka Davids, the father of Morireluwa, the beautiful girl who won the 2015 PZ Cusson baby moment which held in Lagos on February 1st, has cried out after his wife, Funmi Davids, who he is currently separated from, took another man to represent him at the grand finale of the competition

Oluyinka (above) in an interview with Encomium mag said:

"Yes I started it all, got my daughter registered, got her a professional photographer, personally worked and also employed a PR person who worked tirelessly for her on the contest. I knew she would win. I often told her so. I sometimes even rehearsed how she would be announced the winner and yes she did win, all the glory to God. Myself and my wife had a serious misunderstanding which led to temporary separation but I never ignored or denied the fact that the baby she's carrying is my daughter. I am still responsible for her upkeep even till now. She called me  and said "Your daughter Morireoluwa Davids needed a two minute video for the next stage of the competition". That was when I knew she made it to the third stage. And I was like so because she needs a video and her father is a cinematographer, that is why I am getting to know my baby had gone this far in a competition I registered her. Meanwhile shortly before this, during my daughter's first birthday, I ordered a big customized cake, clothes and toys for her. She turned the person I sent to deliver the stuff. I was embarrassed and deeply hurt. She was so rude and mannerless. She said so many things to me. I still have her message saved. So I told her to go and get the video done elsewhere for our baby because she only had to tell me because some of my staff she asked without my permission turned her down" he said

Oluyinka said what his wife did by bringing another man to represent him at the finale was clearly a case of impersonation & blamed the organizers.
"Impersonation. That is what it is and it is punishable under the law. I had a misunderstanding with my wife so she probably thought she could get at me by taking someone else along as the father of my child, not realizing the consequences. I blame PZ! Why? Because they claimed she told them she was having a misunderstanding with the father of the baby and when eventually someone showed up, they didn’t confirm  before they addressed him as Mr Oluyinka Davids as published in The Nation Newspaper February 9th 2015"he said

Oluyinka said the man used to impersonate him at the PZ baby competition was the husband to the younger sister of his wife

"It feels terrible to be impersonated. Especially because I know the guy. His real name is Dehinde Olayokun. He is married to Boluwatife Olayiwola Olayokun who happens to be my wife's youngest sister. She and her immediate elder brother, Dayo Olayiwola, with some boys had harassed and beaten me up in my house which is one of the reasons my wife and I are having a misunderstanding"he said
Oluyinka says his lawyer is working to seek legal redress.

His wife, Mrs Funmi Davids when contacted via phone told the magazine...
"It is better you sleep around than the cheap job you think you are doing. If you ever call my number again, you will regret your life".
Meanwhile the management of PZ Cusson speaking through its brand manager, Seun Ayeni, say they see the matter as a domestic one and do not want to get involved
"We have spoken to the lawyer of the biological father of the baby, Mr Oluyinka Davids and we do not want to get involved in their domestic issues. Our lawyer is already handling the issue and we are okay with that" he said
