TASK FORCE OFFICER SHOT A LADY DEAD IN ABUJA

Late Miss Anuoluwa Moses, a young lady in her early 20s was allegedly killed by a trigger happy Naval officer on the convoy of members of the ABUJA ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY at Kado Estate of the FCT just one month away from her wedding.

According to an exclusive investigation carried out by CKN NEWS,everything seems to be normal in the middle class area of the FCT on Saturday 16th May 2015 until hell was let loose by the members of this notorious outfit under the watch of outgoing FCT Minister ,Bala Mohammed.

On the said day, fully armed members of the agency stormed Kado Estate around Conoil Oil Filling Station in a bid to arrest and seize petroleum products being hawk by some young men.

On sighting the task force which also was accused of killing two fuel hawkers at Wuse 2 area of the city last week, the young men took to their heels. The petroleum products being hawked were abandoned by some of them while the others ran away with theirs.

The action of the task force infuriated some of the sellers who were mostly young men. They started hauling stones and sand at the taskforce members..Instead of responding with teargas as is the norm in other civilized countries, the leader of the taskforce was reported to have ordered his men to shoot live bullets at the young men.

In the course of doing so,an innocent lady (Anuoluwa) who has just finished having her lunch and was heading back to her office was hit by a live bullet which pierced her through the back, went through her heart and breast ..She fell and died instantly.

Another young man also had bullet lodged in his body..All this happened D,Close,Kado Estate.

The taskforce were not done, they also went ahead to set three vehicles that were on the queue to buy fuel at Conoil Petrol Station,Kado Estate on fire. We learnt that a blanket media mention of the incident was placed by the FCT minister and his aides just like some of the ones before it.
Anuoluwa an indigene of Osun State was buried last Monday at Jubilee Burial ground at Suleja , Niger State while  would be husband is still in a state of shock.

SHOCKING NEWS: FUEL SUBSIDY IS A SCAM...GEN.BUHARI

The President-elect, General .Muhammadu Buhari has express his worry over the issue of fuel scarcity and the scam called FUEL SUBSIDY.
In an excerpt from the recent interview with Daily Trust, General said “One of the problems I have, other than the military, is the petroleum industry where I served for three and a half years under General Obasanjo. When people start talking about this subsidy I honestly get confused”
One burning issue is fuel subsidy. I believe you are aware of the queues in major cities like Lagos and Abuja. The fuel importers say they are unsure of the direction of the new government in this area. Have you considered maintaining or withdrawing this subsidy or are you questioning whether it didn’t exist at all?
One of the problems I have, other than the military, is the petroleum industry where I served for three and a half years under General Obasanjo. When people start talking about this subsidy I honestly get confused. I will tell you this, and I hope it will answer what you want to know. Back then we had a refinery in Port Harcourt, which was refining 30,000 barrels a day of Nigerian crude.
Later, it was upgraded to refine 100,000 barrels a day. Another refinery was built in Port Harcourt to refine 150,000 barrels per day of Nigerian crude. So, Port Harcourt alone had the capacity to refine 250,000 barrels per day of Nigerian crude.
But when I found myself as the Minister of Petroleum I set up another refinery in Warri for 100, 000 barrels per day of Nigerian crude and the Kaduna refinery a 100, 000 barrels per day. So Nigeria built capacity to refine 450,000 a day.
Four Hundred thousands of which is purely Nigerian crude, but 50,000 was imported. The type of crude could be Venezuelan, which could be a bit heavier. But the lighter ones – kerosene, aviation fuel, diesel, PMS of different grades could be produced from our crude because Nigerian crude is about the best in the world.
If you could recall, after finishing as Minister of Petroleum, I subsequently became Head of State. You remember, I appointed Professor Tam David West as the Minister of Petroleum. When we rounded up bunkers, collected their illegal jetties and allowed jetties for only big firms which were doing production and development in the country, we were shocked that we had too much fuel.
We had to begin to export 100,000 barrels per day. Don’t forget that we didn’t stop at building refineries, we built more than 20 depots during my time, from Port Harcourt to Ilorin, Makurdi, Suleija, Maiduguri and Kano. More than 3,000 pipelines were laid to connect them. A number of stations were also built to take the trailers off the road, save lives and the infrastructure on the road. It is more economical because each trailer uses fuel.
We did all that in this country and we didn’t borrow any money as far as I know. It’s Nigerian money. From each Nigerian crude, whether Akwa Ibom, Bonny Light or whatever it is, you can work out how much products it will give you; how much petrol it will give you; how much diesel it will give you if you want to produce diesel. We could tell how much Nigerian crude cost, the cost of transportation from there to the refinery, the cost of refining, the cost of transportation to the pump stations and maybe 5 per cent go for overhead.
I can understand if Nigerians pay for those costs. But somebody is saying he is subsidizing Nigerians. Who is subsidizing who?
But they argue that the price should not be the same in Lagos and Daura, for example?
It has to be the same because it is the Nigerian crude.

But they consider the cost of transportation?
Why didn’t it make any difference when we were around? Why did we build the network of pipelines? Why did we build the network of depots? What can Nigerians benefit from the God-given gift of petroleum? No refinery is built unless there is an in-depth research that there is enough reserve of up to six layers to be produced.
The argument I have heard is that refineries are aged. Mostly, they are performing at less than half of their capacity…?
You can’t defend these corrupt and incompetent people. You can’t defend them. There used to be what they call turn-around-maintenance. You close the refinery in order to overhaul and clean it. What we did: we asked our producers, we need various refined products of this type at this time when the refineries are being cleaned. Take this type of Nigerian crude and bring us the refined products.
What we don’t need, we will calculate and pay you as fees for refining and transportation. If it is more than what the crude can handle, then we take it from the treasury. But you are trying to justify all these frauds by saying the refineries are aged.
Of course, they are actually aged?
They said the refineries are aged. The pipelines are leaking. There is vandalisation. Who ordered the vandalisation?
Does it suggest that you don’t believe in the subsidy? So, you are not going to agree to its continuation in anyway?
I would like to be on ground and find out what really has been going wrong. Why is it that people are doing round-tripping with the Nigerian products and take money from the treasury?
Some people are still in court. You know about it. So, I’m not taking anything for granted. But I will try and find out what went wrong.

I WENT INTO ROBBERY TO SAVE MY FRIEND'S LIFE...ROBBER'S CONFESSION

Alhaji Ramon Adeleke, 55, alongside his friend Lukmon Shoyoye has been arrested by the operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, for robbery.

Adeleke, who was caught alongside his friend Lukmon Shoyoye on Close-Circuit Television CCTV in front of a hotel stealing a parked Toyota Corolla around Allen Avenue, at midnight, said he went into robbery to save the life of his friend who has kidney failure.

Adeleke who confessed to committing the crime, said that, “I gave the money to my friend, Chief Kola, who had kidney problem because he was very sick.”

In his account,“I live in Obilegun Street in Iba, Lagos and married with four children. I am a landlord in Lagos.
“My friend and I went to Airport Hotel at night and at dawn, we stole a Toyota Corolla 2003 model, parked in the hotel. While we were stealing the vehicle, I did not know that the CCTV captured us.

“I took the car to Alhaji who bought it for N400, 000. I gave the money to my friend Chief Kola, who had kidney problem because he was very sick. I gave Lukmon, who went to the operation with me, N80,000.”

38-year-old Lukmon Shoyoye however reiterated in his own defence that,   “I have known Ramon for several years. We met when he came to fix the glass of his commercial vehicle. Sometime around November 2014, Ramon called me on phone and said he wanted to see me.

“When we met, he said he wants me to escort him. He told me he wants to seize the vehicle of a friend who owed him but refused to pay. I neither planned nor discussed the operation with him.

“We drove to Allen at about 12 midnight. I became suspicious of his mission when he stole a car that was parked in the hotel. It was Ramon that forced the door of the vehicle open.

“It was when we left the scene that it occurred to me that he actually stole a car. I drove my four-runner Jeep, while he drove the stolen vehicle. He went alone to Ile-Epo to sell the vehicle.

“I do not know for how much he sold the car, but he gave me N80,000 which I used to pay my children’s school fees. I was arrested after Ramon was arrested.

“I am from Abeokuta in Ogun State and married with six children. I am an aluminium fabricator.”

The stolen vehicle has since been recovered while the suspects will be charged to court soon.

UPDATE: BURUJI KASHAMU UNDER HOUSE ARREST

Prince Buruji Kashamu, whom his residence was stormed by NDLEA operatives, will have to wait till Monday, to determine if they'd extradite him to the US or not.

Update on the report revealed that the NDLEA operatives did not have a warrant of arrest, so they have kept him under house arrest till Monday to enable seek a court order to effect the arrest.

Kashamu’s lawyers have said they will go to court to challenge the move, according to Buruji’s media aide, Austin Oniyokor.

Oniyokor in a statement said invading his home is a confirmation of the alleged plot to illegally abduct him in spite of the pending suit against this illegal extradition.

Buruji is now accusing Chief Bode George, a leader of the PDP for being t
he mastermind behind this invasion of privacy. However, some people don't think so.

“As a matter of fact, the court has ordered parties in the matter including the NDLEA to maintain status quo until judgment is delivered on Wednesday 27th May 2015.
“We have confirmed that they do not have a warrant of arrest, just as the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice has said that it didot give any order to carry out this illegality.

“We have confirmed that this illegality is being designed and executed by Chief Bode George whose wife is the Director General of the NDLEA, all in a bid to score cheap political points.

“We urge all well meaning Nigerians to prevail on NDLEA, Chief George and his wife to toe the path of the rule of law and follow due process. Nigeria is not a Banana Republic! The United States(US) being the bastion of democracy
, the rule of law and due process should not lend itself to this kind of illegality,” the statement said.

Buruji is believed to be the “Alhaji” whose drug dealings formed the inspiration for Netflix hit series “Orange is the New Black”, which was written by American, Piper Kerman. All the people involved in the drug dealings have all been punished under US law. Only Buruji has remained elusive.

I WAS FORCED TO LIE & DRINK THE WATER USED TO WASH CORPSE

Bode David, 29, a mechanic is yet to recover from being made to spend a night with the corpse of his friend, late Ganiyu, and drink the water used to wash him, recounting his ordeal, Bode, an indigene of Ekiti State,  said: “I knew the late Ganiyu and Wasiu in January, when I was looking for someone to fix my faulty Honda car.

“That was when Ganiyu introduced me to Wasiu to fix my car. After he fixed my car, I paid him N35,000. Since then, we have had no business except when our paths occasionally crossed and we exchange pleasantries.

“On Tuesday, Wasiu called me at about 6p.m., saying they need my help urgently. He said Ganiyu was in the hospital and that they needed money to purchase pints of blood and drips, which was about N19, 000.

“He pleaded with me to come. At about 7pm, without any idea that Ganiyu was dead, I drove my car to the junction of their street, called him on phone that he should come and collect N5,000, which was all that I had to assist Ganiyu’s treatment at that time.

“When he came to where I parked my vehicle, he said the hospital was nearby, so we walked towards where he said the hospital is located.

“As we walked, I began to notice some strange movement in the vicinity as bad boys filled the area, so I asked where exactly the hospital was. He said we are taking a short cut to the hospital.

‘’Eventually, the short cut led to a compound. Immediately we entered the compound, people began to ask me what I knew about Ganiyu’s death. I told them I knew nothing, but they did not believe me, and they began to beat me.

‘’When they were beating me, a Baale in the area interrogated me, told them to stop beating me and to hand me over to the police, or they might beat me to death and then have two corpses on their hands. But they refused.

“After beating me, they forced me to sleep on the floor in the same room where Ganiyu’s corpse was laid to prove that I had nothing to do with his death. While they were beating me, my phone and the money in my pocket got missing.

“When they discovered that I was still alive, they washed his corpse and forced me to drink the water. I refused but they almost killed me with another round of beating. When it was obvious that I had no option, I drank it.

“After I drank the water, someone who claimed that he knew me called the police. The police took me to divisional police station at Awoshika, before the case was transferred to Area F Command.
“I have nothing to do with Ganiyu’s death. How would I be responsible for his death when I had no problem with him? All I want is for government and Nigerians to come to my aid, and bring those who meted this inhumane treatment to me to justice.’’

My story—WASIU
In his defence, 33-year-old Wasiu Fadairo, the mechanic who lured Bode with the call that brought him to the house, said: “I am from Kwara State. The late Ganiyu is from my home town.

“On May 12, Ganiyu was stooling and vomiting blood, so we rushed him to a hospital located along Oluwora Road, Isheri in Magodo. He later died, calling a particular name— Bode.

“After he died, we took him home because none of his immediate family members or relatives was available. When we called them, they said they were coming, so we kept his corpse inside his room.

“That same day, neighbours and people living around were angry, alleging that the name Bode, which Ganiyu kept calling before he died, was responsible for his death. So they began to call Bode’s phone number.

“When Bode did not come, I called him with my phone and told him that Ganiyu was lying critically ill and needed blood and drips, and that we need his assistance.

“When he came, people began to question him concerning what he knew about Ganiyu’s death. Before he could say a word, they pounced on him and began to beat him. So I ran to call the police to come and rescue him.

“After police rescued him, they later went to where he parked his car and vandalized it. I was there when they were beating him, but I was not there when they forced him to lie beside the corpse and drink the water used to wash it.”

Police story
Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, said: “Two friends went out for a drink and one of them, Ganiyu, took ill after the outing and started stooling.

“He was rushed to the hospital for medical attention, but died in the process. Angry friends and neighbours, suspecting the complicity of Bode David, descended on him and attempted to lynch him.
“He was, however, rescued by our policemen and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Ganiyu commenced at Isheri Division. But the case has been transferred to the Department of Criminal investigation, DCI, Yaba, for further investigation.”
