NIGERIAN LADY KILLS HER HUSBAND OVER $100,000 LIFE INSURANCE IN USA

A United States court has found guilty a 45-year-old Nigerian woman, Mrs. Uloma Curry-Walker, of killing her fire-fighter husband, Mr. William Walker, to collect $100,000 in insurance money.

Uloma faces life in prison without parole, according to Cleveland.com. The convict was said to have organised William’s killing in November 2013, although the couple got married four months earlier.
Jurors deliberated for less than two hours before reaching the verdict on Friday, while sentencing is on August 8.

Prosecutors said Uloma had financial difficulties after running up tens of thousands of dollars in debt when she asked her then-17-year-old daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend to find someone to kill her husband so she could collect the insurance money.

She, however, did not know that William had not yet changed the beneficiary on the insurance policy from his former wife’s name to Uloma’s when he was killed.
Ironically, while Uloma may spend the rest of her life in jail, William’s former wife received the insurance money.

It was revealed during trial that Uloma gave her daughter’s boyfriend, Chad Padgett, a $1,000 down payment to carry out the killing. Padgett, the court was told, contacted his cousin, Chris Hein, who initially failed in his attempt to kill Walker.

But unrelenting, Hein turned to Ryan Dorty to carry out the murder. Prosecutors told the court that Dorty ambushed William and shot him four times as he returned home from getting fast food which Uloma had requested.

The convict and her husband were packing the night he was killed for a move to a house they had purchased outside Cleveland.

The daughter, Padgett, Hein and Dorty testified against Uloma at trial as part of plea deal for their roles in the murder conspiracy.

Hein agreed to a sentence of 18 years to life, Padgett 28 years to life and Dorty 23 years to life.Prosecutors agreed not to seek adult charges against Uloma’s daughter. Instead, she will spend a month in a juvenile detention centre.

The daughter testified at trial that her mother told her: “No one would believe I would hire a bunch of kids to kill someone when I know people that could.”
Uloma wrote a confession the day she surrendered to police that said she killed her husband because he was abusive.

But her attorneys did not call any witness to testify that William was violent toward Uloma.
One of Uloma’s attorneys, according to Cleveland.com, pointed to discrepancies in witness testimony during closing arguments and suggested the daughter had devised the murder scheme.

US VISA APPLICANTS NOW TO PROVIDE SOCIAL MEDIA DETAILS

As  part of President Donald Trump’s efforts, to tighten vetting of would-be visitors to the US.People applying for US visas worldwide, will now have to fill a new questionnaire...Applicants would be asked for their social media handles for the last five years and biographical information going back 15 years.

They were approved on May 23 by the Office of Management and Budget.

Consular officials can request all prior passport numbers, five years’ worth of social media information, email addresses and phone numbers.

They can also ask for 15 years of biographical information including addresses, employment and travel history.

However, critics have said the new questions would be tiring and lead to long delays in processing, discouraging international students and scientists from travelling to the States.

The State Department said earlier the tighter vetting would apply to visa applicants “who have been determined to warrant additional scrutiny in connection with terrorism or other national security-related visa ineligibilities”.

US JAILS 3 NIGERIAN SCAMMERS 235 YEARS IN PRISON

Three Nigerian scammers,Oladimeji Seun Ayelotan, 30, Rasaq Aderoju Raheem, 31 and Femi Alexander Mewase,45,   have been given jail sentences for defrauding victims they met on dating sites of tens of millions of dollars.

Oladimeji Seun Ayelotan, 30, was sentenced to 95 years in prison; Rasaq Aderoju Raheem, 31, was sentenced to 115 years and Femi Alexander Mewase, 45, got 25 years in prison, according to a report by Infosecurity Magazine. That brings it to a total of 235 years in prison.

They were tried and found guilty by a court in the Southern District of Mississippi. Their crimes include; identity theft, mail, credit card, and wire fraud; and theft of government property.

Ayelotan and Raheem were also found guilty of conspiracies to commit bank fraud and money laundering.

The scammers have reportedly been carrying out their operations as far back as 2001. They were part of a string of scams against Americans, facilitated by internet communications. They got involved in what is popularly called 419, where their victims are promised a massive amount in return for making some payments into the criminals' accounts.  The criminals did not stop there but went even further.

They reportedly befriend women on dating sites, start a romantic relationship and then either get them to send money or have them participate in fraud schemes, usually without the victim’s knowledge. Sometimes the unsuspecting women were made to cash counterfeit checks or use stolen credit cards to buy things. They were used to launder money via Western Union and the likes.

They were also accused of running romance stings to steal from lonely people, shipping fraud, running fake work-from-home businesses, check fraud, and hijacking other people’s bank accounts and credit cards to divert funds.

21 defendants have already been charged in the case, which is still ongoing. 12 of whom have pleaded guilty to charges involving conspiracy and 11 of whom have been sentenced.

MUSLIMS PRAY IN DALLAS AIRPORT TO PROTE TRUMP'S BAN ON 7 MUSLIM NATIONS FROM ENTERING USA

Muslims in the United States on Sunday took to the Dallas Fort Worth airport to protest Donald Trump’s executive order temporarily barring Muslims from seven countries from entering the United States. The protest was going on normally and then there was a loud call to prayer, following which a group of Muslim men converted the baggage claim area to their prayer ground.

Some were against this move by the Muslims, pointing out that no Muslim nation will allow Christians or Jews to take over their airport in this way. While a few others felt it was a necessary move as long as it was kept peaceful.

A day before, a similar, less peaceful protest was held to demand the release of detainees who were held in accordance with Trump's executive order. See video of the protest below... WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
