The 2014 Miss Ukwu Competition has come and gone. The  competition that saw  25  contestants compete to win the title of Miss Curvy; saw Ijeoma Nnaji , as the top winner , and  She took home a brand new car whilst runners up got modelling representation.

BOKO HARAM IS A GOVERNMENT AGENDA 'AKA' POLITICAL DIVERSION !

It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan said last year that he believed that some members of the military and even of his own government, including some Cabinet ministers, sympathized with Boko Haram or belonged to the group. Jonathan in January fired his entire military command and weeks later replaced the defence minister

Now Fifteen top echelon military officers have been reportedly found guilty in courts-martial of providing arms and information to Boko Haram sects, major Nigerian newspapers said Tuesday, though the military insisted there was no truth in the reports.

According to information gathered by The Associated Press ‘that some senior officers were helping the Islamic extremists and that some rank-and-file soldiers even fight alongside the insurgents and then return to army camps. They have said that information provided by army officers has helped insurgents in ambushing military convoys and in attacks on army barracks and outposts in their northeastern stronghold’.

Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, still maintained on Tuesday that defence headquarters "wishes to state once again categorically that there is no truth whatsoever in the report." He called it a "falsehood" concocted by those who "appear hell-bent on misleading Nigerians and the international community to give credence to the negative impression they are so keen to propagate about the Nigerian military."

With the situation of things at the moment, i can say it categorically that Boko Haram, is a mirage, a government ploy to divert Nigerian attention from knowing what is going on around them. That is : POLITICAL DIVERSION!

Nigerian people are now scared to talk of the 'missing' 20 billion dollars!  The outrage that greeted the unlawful removal of Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi from office has taken the back seat!

The theft and misappropriation of public funds by the disgraced former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, and the strident demands for her prosecution have been quietly forgotten!  Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke the Petroleum, who misappropriates billions of naira of public funds for her private jets is now moving freely.

 The outrage and persistent demands for the sack of the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro for fraudulently collecting close to a billion naira from job seekers for phantom jobs in the Immigration Service which caused the loss of about 26 lives has also cooled off!

The Nigerian public has forgotten that the National Assembly has approved the 2014 budget estimates since March, but the President has still not signed it! The Abracadabra called National confab is now a forgotten issue!

NICOLA ADAMS (MBE) : FIRST WOMAN TO WIN OLYMPIC BOXING TITLE

Nicola Adams, MBE, born 26 October 1982, in Leeds, West Yorkshire, is British boxer, and is the first woman to win an Olympic boxing title. She was a Gold Medal winner at the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London. She was educated at Agnes Stewart Church of England High School, Burmantofts, Leeds.

Adams who struggled to continue her boxing career due to lack of funds, at one time worked as an acting extra on soaps such as ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘EastEnders’ , also  worked as a builder before the International Olympic Committee backed funding for women’s boxing in 2009

This sensational athlete represented Haringey Police Community Club at boxing, As of July 2012 (and before the London Summer Olympic Games), she was rated World Number Two in the flyweight  (51kg) division, behind Chinese world champion Ren Cancan, whom she eventually defeated at 2012 Olympic final in London.

Nicola Adams laughs a lot that is her signature, no dull moment for this beautiful boxer. According to her, she said: ‘I always try to have fun. Even in my walk up to the ring I was smiling, I was happy. My coach said to me when I first started that it is all about enjoying it, no matter that there is a lot at stake and it is serious but you still have to enjoy your sport because it is over so quickly’

A lady of many firsts’, in 2007, Adams was the first English female to win a medal in a major tournament, taking Silver in the bantamweight (54kg) division at the European Championships in Denmark. In November 2010, She is also the first ever GB Amateur Boxing Championship at the Echo Arena Liverpool, where she won silver.

In 2012 she became the first female boxer to receive an award from the Boxing Writers' Club of Great Britain. Specifically, she was awarded the ‘Joe Bromley Award’ for an outstanding service to boxing. She was also the first woman ever to be invited to the club's awards ceremony.

She was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to boxing

This worthy Ambassador of Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, has this to say:  ‘I am president of Us Girls, a charity that tries to get girls from disadvantaged areas into sport. We get girls doing loads of different sports, not just boxing.” ‘’I would be more wary of boxing a pretty boxer than I would one that looks like they have been bashed up a bit because the pretty boxer obviously doesn’t get hit – so that means they must be quite good! It’s like Muhammad Ali – ‘I’m so pretty, I’m so pretty’.” And Adams laughs again.’

CELEBRITY OF THE MONTH: ADEWALE AYUBA aka MR.JOHNSON

The celebrity of the month is no other person than an award winning talented musician of our time, Adewale Ayuba, aka Mr. Johnson, born in Ikenne Remo,Ogun State Nigeria, on May, 6th 1966.

The Bonsue Fuji creator started his music career after his secondary school education at Remo, Secondary School, Sagamu, Ogun State.

Adewale Ayuba, is a musician, performer and an entertainer. His hi-tech instrumentation, distinct voice and his immeasurable talent changed the face of Fuji Music in Nigeria forever.  

Ayuba’s  albums that launched him into prominence are: “Bubble” which was released in 1991. Followed by ‘Mr. Johnson Play for Me’, in 1992, this also became an instant success; these two albums were produced by Ace producer Laolu Akins. ,“Buggie D” was a run-way success.  It instantly became a hit, winning multiple awards at the Fame Music Awards (FMA) and topping the music chart for several months. In 2000, he released a mega-hit Album, Turn Me On. Turn Me On broke music records in Nigeria.

 Ayuba had since gone on to conquer the world with his brand of bonsue fuji music.  He is the first and only Fuji artiste so far to have had a taste of Kora Awards when he won two Kora Awards in 2005 with his collaboration with Germany-based Nigerian artiste, Ade Bantu.

LETTER TO ISLAMMIYAH : ERIC ABAKPORO SENTENCE ' THE MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE'

The story about the conviction of Pastor Eric Abakporo, a Nigerian lawyer based in USA on flimsy excused of fraud is not new to me as US judgements against Black people.  

The case of Brian Keith Banks, born in July 24, 1985. A native of Long Beach, California, came to my mind. ‘’In the summer of 2002, Banks was arrested and charged after classmate Wanetta Gibson said that he dragged her into a stairway at Polytechnic High School (Poly) and raped her. However, with the crucial DNA evidence put aside, and faced with a possible 41 years to life sentence, he accepted a plea deal that included five years in prison, five years of probation, and registering as a sex offender. After the poor guy served his jailed term, Wanetta then confessed that she lied against him!

According   to Vickie Owodunni, social critics, she summed it up thus: ‘As much as I love America, this is one of the aspects of the country that scares me. Right from former FBI Director Edgar Hoover the FBI made life a living hell for those they want to get rid off; and they still do. Once they want you guilty you will be guilty, no matter what evidence proves otherwise. It's a very evil system that needs changing. But when they knew this judge manipulates the law to suit her why couldn't they do something about her?’

‘Dear Islammiyah,

I have a story that I would appreciate if you publish on your blog. You may have read about Pastor Eric Abakporo. Anyone who wants to know the truth about this case, will listen to me because I was present every single  day of the court deliberation.  This is another case of injustice against a minority.  Pastor Eric Abakporo did nothing to deserve the conviction he got.

All banks in question wrote formally and cleared him of every accusation of fraud.  From the findings, it is safe to conclude that this was a planned arrangement.  It was obvious that the court system of a country that calls itself democratic allowed such a fraudulent conviction because the person concerned is not a citizen of this country. He was accused falsely and convicted and sentenced not based on the fraud that he was accused of because there was no evidence to prove it but on Relevant Conduct which the parties involved in this plot cooked up.

The man was accused of bank fraud and the court never found anything to prove that.  All the banks in question wrote to confirm Pastor Abakporo’s innocence.  They wrote that no money was lost on the transactions he was involved with; most of which he was just an attorney representing his clients.  All the mortgages involved here were all paid and satisfied and Pastor Abakporo did not steal any money from any bank or individual.

The period before sentencing lasted very long because the court could not find any loss with which to sentence him.  The court finally resorted to using Relevant Conduct and Intended Loss, wrongly, because they did not want to accept that Pastor Abakporo has won the case.  They could not prove that he intended to defraud any bank or individual.  In short nothing was proved beyond reasonable doubt.

The court relied on false accusations from certain individuals; such accusations which were disproved right there in the court, and by calculating losses from third party properties that had nothing to do with Pastor Abakporo.  (Imagine selling your property to someone for a certain amount.  That someone now sells it to another person and made a profit on it, after which that third person now sells the property, but below purchase price.  Now imagine the loss incurred by this third person then gets calculated against you the very first seller).  These are the kinds of calculations used against this man.  It boils down to the court and government not wanting to face the shame of accusing and convicting an innocent man, if he is set free.

They wanted to find something by all means when their initial claims failed.  They even went searching for new things to use against him after jury conviction, because they had nothing to support the conviction.   The bank denied any loss against Pastor Abakporo.  The court and government then claimed he used sophisticated means which they did not prove.  A lot happened in that court.  It was injustice in the highest order from a judge who has already been declared by her peers as having a history of being a partial judge.  Together with the evil FBIs and others who plotted this attack they planned this evil against a man of God, an innocent man out of jealousy of certain highly placed individuals with whom he’s had problems in the past.

Do not believe what these group of people say against this innocent man.  He is innocent of all the charges against him.  Have you asked yourself what happened to the 90 years imprisonment they said he was going to get?  What happened to the bank and wire fraud? None of that survived.  All they have to say are lies against his profession and ministry, all because of jealousy and hatred of Christians especially ministers.  They sought to mess up his credibility and name because he is a lawyer and a pastor.

He did none of the things they accused him off and they know it.   We know many are languishing in American jails for crimes they did not commit.  In this year alone at least four or five people have been released from jail whom they wrongly accused and convicted.  These people have spent better parts of their lives in jail without doing anything wrong.  Think and judge for yourselves.’

CHRIS AND ANITA OYAKHILOME IN 'RHAPSODY OF REALITIES'

I don't like to write much about private affairs of anybody, but that one of General Overseer of the Christ Embassy, Chris Oyakhilome, is not just anybody, he is a public figure, hence i will make my comment.

The rumour has been going around that Televangelist, Chris Oyakhilome and his better have been experiencing some marital crisis.  It will be recalled that Pastor Chris Oyakhilome relocated to Johannesburg in South Africa in January while his wife stayed back in the UK where she had lived for years – an action that did not go down well with his church members; thereby created a Facebook page on May 10,2014, asking for some explanations. Because the bible says, ‘What God had joined together, let no man put asunder’

 According to his church members,Pastor Chris, has never been spotted with his wife by his side – not during ministry conferences, not during conferences by other ministers and never during the monthly communion service transmitted live from a TV studio. They inquired further why other high ranking women in the ministry who are close to the Pastor travel with him always.

However, it seems the worry of his church members were confirmed when Pastor Chris Oyakhilome delivered a controversial speech on the 16th of May in a meeting with all UK Pastors and Deacons at Christ Embassy, Bermondsey.

In the speech, he told his church ministers thus “I am here for your concerns about the ongoing domestic issue with my wife and I know it affects you directly, being the ones under her leadership.

This is not an organisation or a political party, so it’s not a place for you to air your opinion or scrutinise what we do. We had a vision, started and you joined us. If you don’t like what we do, you can get out.Churches where members air their views never grow.

Some Pastors wives think when they marry a pastor they are equal to the pastor. My wife thinks so, as a matter of fact, Rev. Tom was her pastor before I married her and Rev. Ray and Evang. Owase were her leaders long before I married her. How come she thinks she’s senior to them now?” He asked.’

SHAMEFUL NIGERIAN RAP ARTISTE 'GODWON' ADMITTED THAT HE STOLE 'CANDY' IN USA

Godwon, and his former best guy, Sauce Kid (now known as Sinzu) do have some things in common, they are both Yankee returnee or deportee, they are rap artistes and, both of them ran against the law in USA , one (Godwon)for stolen candy and the other (Sinsu) for debit card fraud .

However, the relationship between Godwon and Sinzu has since gone sour. Their controversy degenerated when   the US police released a surveillance video which showed black male withdrawing money from the ATM with a stolen debit card in Houston.

Godwon had reportedly tweeted, “At your age, you can’t make peace but have time to be thief and make the news… I have been shady but I haven’t been posting pix of two new Mercedes when I need 300 bucks so bad I had to steal.”
The US police eventually arrested Sauce Kid and his mug shots went viral on the net. So many people believed it was Godwon’s tweet that made the police to apprehend Sinzu.

“Somebody tweeted to me about Sinzu’s case in the US and I only retweeted it. I called him but he didn’t want to talk to me.

“I believe it was somebody close to him that sent that tweet to me. He doesn’t realise that people in the US are your friends but once you outshine them, they burn your cable. People don’t want to think reasonably. How could it be me? I am in Abuja; do I have surveillance in the US? The cat was already out of the bag. The US officials were already after him. I feel bad for him. If I had known, I wouldn’t have retweeted it. By the time I realised it, it was too late.”

 “We are no longer friends at all. The beef was already like a year old before the records started coming out. I had no problem with Sauce Kid. Even when he was shooting Carolina video, I called him and told him that I heard about it and I would want to come over and show some love. He sent me text and said I shouldn’t come and that we are no longer cool. Sinzu was getting jealous of me. He felt this dude came from Yankee with tattoos  and started getting a lot of recognition. He wanted to get separated from me.

“I reached out to a mutual friend and told him that I and Sinzu beefed but we shouldn’t let it degenerate to a point where we couldn’t get anything out of it. I suggested we should come out with a project called Sinzu versus Godwon and we release it. I told him I was sure it would be commercially successful.

“But he was too sensitive and he is not a businessman, he sent Ovie, our mutual friend a text, saying, ‘f**k Godwon.’ A week later, I retweeted that tweet about his case in the US. I had known all along about his case. I even felt for him to be involved in such crime, he needed money. But I suggested clean money  to him, he wouldn’t want it,” he said.

“At the moment, some blogs don’t post my music, some radio people don’t want to talk to me. It is only God that has been helping me. I have not bribed anybody. I have not told anybody to mess with Sinzu. One of the reasons I wasn’t soft was because Sinzu started messing with my family and my kids. He doesn’t realise that my kids are old enough to go online and read stuff he is saying about me. People feel sorry for him and his daughter. I have three kids. I am not going to lose this because people are sympathetic to Sinzu. “When my son asked me why this guy was saying stuff about us, I was so angry and I had to drop a record concerning him,” he added.
