SCANDAL IN MOSCOW :MOST ATHLETES ARE UN-FIT ....JUST ESTACODE GALORE

The effect of poor funding of other sports other than football and  Nigeria fire Brigade approach to most of the facet of life was also came to bare in far away  Moscow when officials discovered that  most of the tops and medals hopeful were  either injured or not fit for the championship. This was as a result of  Athletics Federation of Nigeria who took athletes to the World Championships (equivalent of World Cup in soccer) without even a day’s camping, is a scandal by all standards in sports

Nigeria entered Ajoke Odumosu, the 400m hurdler who is injured and could not train well, what more competing among the best in the world  for her event. And in order to avoid sanctions Ajoke had to line out for the event, and she beat the gun two times and fouled out. What a shame.

It was simply ridiculous that Nigeria cannot even camp their Athletes for at least 2-week to access their readiness for the events of this magnitude. Most of the countries in the world bring their best but Nigeria case is always different  as what is uppermost in the mind of Sport official is estacode, how to just milk the country dry.The shame that could have been avoided if there was even a one week camping for the coaches to access the athletes they were taking to the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Tosin Oke, the male Triple Jumper is also not fit. The coaches only found out in Moscow.. And that’s how Nigeria has become almost a one- athlete nation courtesy of Blessing Okagbare who is a Long Jump silver medalist

“We would not have had this problem if we had money to camp athletes for even a short time,” one AFN official lamented, adding “it’s a shame that this is happening to a Nigerian team in the World Championships.”

The questions that i love the sport minister to answer is that are there no fund for this championship in his yearly budget? Why did he not released the fund in time for the proper planing? Why is it that the Official are always more than the athletes  What is his plan for future in order to avoid this type of show of shame?.
