MOJI OLAIYA: THE SHAME CALLED NOLLYWOOD.

NOT A NOLLYWOOD SCRIPT.........
Husband to actress, Foluke Daramola and founder Coordinator of Change Agents of Nigeria Network (CANN), Olukayode Salako thanked Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu for sponsoring the Burial of Moji Olaiya, especially the transporting of the corpse back to Nigeria, He wrote that the burial committee called Governor Ayo Fayose and he responded that he doesn't know any Moji Olaiya.
He wrote:
WHEN SUCH A MAN OF CRUDE, DIRTY CHARACTER AND ORIENTATION IS IN CHARGE OF LEADERSHIP AND POWER.
Burial Committee:
Your Excellency, Moji Olaiya is dead and as an ambassador of your state, we would appreciate your support to fly her corpse back to Nigeria for befitting burial
Governor Fayose:
Who is Moji?! I don't know any Moji. Please, stop disturbing my phone!
What an aberration!
What an awkwardness and crudity in leadership!
Meanwhile,
Thank you Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu for always proving it that you remain among the only few reasonable, reliable and benevolent fathers of the Yoruba nation ever since.
Moji's remains are coming back home.
Thank you Jagaban!
Thank you, all well-meaning Nigerians who have contributed in one way or the other.
Thank you, sir!
What a man with such a large heart!

The optics are bad only for those that can reason deep enough. A Yoruba adage goes: try and pretend to trip from a walk and see how many people will have your back. The manner in which Moji Olaiya died was bad. The way with which her corpse has been treated by her Nollywood friends has been disheartening, to say the least. During her illustrious Nollywood career in which she became a superstar. Over six million Yoruba movies were produced and counting. Moji starred in thousands of them.

When she died, we found out that her Nollywood friends could not come together to raise the money to bring her body home from Canada. Sad. All they did was shed tears acting to be in sorrow on Social media. The committee of friends led by Fathia Balogun had to go cap in hands begging to for money for the deceased superstar. To confirm the troubling fact that 96% of deaths in Nollywood has been due to either neglect by "Nollywood friends" and poverty.

We are talking about an industry where the stars are known to flaunt their wealth on red carpets. An industry with so many associations that would kill to get the next government money. The theme in most Nollywood stories is how well the country is doing. How many billions they won from a government contract. We see the big expensive cars. We see the breathtaking mansions. We see the designer bags and clothes. But when it was time to pay for Enebeli Elebuwa's ( Andrew No Check Out) medical bills. Nollywood stood by and watch him die. Same was the fate of Mufutau Sanni ( Ajigijaga) and so many others.

Most depressing now is what Nollywood friends are doing to Moji Olaiya, after her sad and unexpected demise. The truth in Nollywood is everyman for himself and God help us all. We often and rightfully find the government as the scapegoat to vent our blame and anger. But it is time Nollywood looks into the mirror. There is more to life besides lights, camera, action. When life happens to friends where will Nollywood be?

Thank you Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu. Thank you, sir, for doing what friends of Moji could not do. Finally, Moji Olaiya will come home to sleep. Thank you Jagaban.

YOMI PETERS RECOUNTS LONG-TIME FEUD BETWEEN SIR SHINA PETERS ....18 YEARS AFTER !

In 1998, a story broke that Yomi Peters planned an armed robbery attack on his elder brother and Juju superstar, Sir Shina Peters (SSP). 18 years after the incident, which has caused a long-time feud between the brothers, Yomi told The Nation exclusively about what really went down.

Yomi, who is the third of three brothers from the same parents, felt it was high time he cleared the air, as the incident between him and their eldest brother continues to buzz on the internet with many dubbing him an armed robber.

According to Yomi who is also a musician, he had gone to see SSP in his Iju Station home in Lagos to resolve some family issues, involving their other brother whose wife had come to complain that her husband has abandoned her with their four children.

He said his immediate elder brother’s wife had come to see him during a show at Heritage Garden, Isolo, Lagos, complaining that ‘my brother drove him out with four children because my brother stayed back in America and didn’t follow her back to Nigeria.’

He said he promised her to come and see his brother (Sir Shina peters) to discuss the matter to know what is really happening.

On that note, he said: “I went to Shina Peters’ house, it was around 7pm and I met the gateman who knew me and greeted me, but did not open the gate for me as he needed to get clearance from his boss. I was there waiting with the man who drove me down. After about 30 minutes without any response, I knocked on the gate again. I wanted to ask the security that whether my brother said he should not open the gate for us,” said Yomi.

“After that, we didn’t hear about the security. We did not even see him. We did not even know what was going on. And the guy that drove me there was telling me, ‘let’s go. I don’t think this is your brother’s house. I said, ‘don’t worry. Maybe he is sleeping and they’re trying to tell him.

“Soon, we heard people shouting Ole! Ole! (thief, thief) from the house. And the person that took me to the place was telling me, let’s go. E bi like say they are shouting armed robber on you.’ I said no, no, no. I was scared for my brother, thinking there may be an armed robber in the house. My brother’s house was built with electric fence. So you cannot climb it. How are you going to climb light wire? So definitely, climbing the fence, as alleged was a lie. I just climbed the flower bed to open the security house to see what was going on inside because I didn’t imagine it was me they were calling an armed robber. So when I tried to open it, I saw my brother in knicker with his wife. And before I knew it, he had called the police.

“So, I said, ‘ah, my brother, is it me that you are calling armed robber?’ Before I knew it, policemen arrived from Oko-Oba Police Station. They searched both of us but found no gun. When my brother opened the gate, it was then that I knew what was going on: Sammy, his wife said, ‘they are 20 in number’, that the rest armed robbers had run away.”

Upon discovering that he and Shina Peters were blood brothers, Yomi said the police dismissed the matter saying it was a family affair. “The situation on that day was chaotic and if I was not also well-known in the area, they could have killed us,” he said.

“I entered the house and confronted my brother over the allegation of robbery. I was so mad, I started fighting with him. Then, my brother’s wife locked the gate and unknown to me, she went to call another set of policemen.”

This time, the police reportedly held Yomi and ordered him to come with them to the station, “but I insisted that the person that accused me of robbery must come along. But my brother diverted along the way and never got to the station with us. I refused to write any statement without the complainant being present. Thus, they locked me and the driver up. The next morning, we saw a newspaper  headline that read: ‘Yomi Peters with armed robbery gang invade Shina Peters’ house. All the papers that carried the story had it on their front page.

“My brother sent one of his fans, Tunde Adaba, on the second day to tell the police that I was not an armed robber, but the police were adamant and said nothing could be done until Shina Peters shows up. So they locked Tunde Adaba up too.”

Yomi said Adaba’s wife then went to cause a scene at Shina Peters’ house over the detention of her husband. It was not until the third day that Shina Peters came to the police station with an ex Police Commissioner who pleaded with him.

“The man called used the Bible and Quran to preach to me, he used Koran to preach for me. And I asked my brother one question: “Am I an armed robber?” but he simply replied, ‘let’s forget it.'”

Yomi said further that Shina Peters asked the police to make him sign an undertaking to the effect that he (Yomi) will never enter Shina Peters’ house again, which he had since obeyed.

Yomi, who revealed that he travelled to the United States shortly after that incident has just returned to Nigeria to continue with his music career. The singer who has just released a single titled ‘Igbeyawo’, said the reason he is telling the story was to clear his name.
