"WHY I QUIT STAND-UP COMEDY"~~ TEJU BABYFACE
He said, “It was always a struggle to be a comedian. You may not have seen the struggle but every time I got on stage, it was a constant struggle. I had to prove myself to the audience constantly at every performance.
It was a constant struggle and there were times I had been called on stage and the applause at the best of time would be polite, at the worst of times it would be non-existent.
If you think about it, I really did not look like a comedian. It was as if the audience did not believe I could make them laugh; so I always had to prove myself.
There was a time that it did not matter because I really enjoyed doing it. But after a certain time, your inner man would call out to you and things like discontent would start to set in.”
He told Saturday Beats that his conviction was further fuelled when he realised that he could never be the number one stand-up comedian in the industry. Babyface however emphasised that he would always remain a comedian.
“It occurred to me that I was never going to be the number one stand-up comedian. I would never forget that day. It occurred to me several times in my stand-up comedy career but there was a certain day I had a lucid moment after a particular performance.
As I got off the stage, it occurred to me that I was not called to be a career stand-up comedian. It was just a stage through which I had to pass. I am not saying I am not a comedian because I will always be one but I am no longer a stand-up comedian. I like to use the example of Steve Harvey in the US.
He did his last stand-up comedy show in Las Vegas in 2012 but he hosts the Steve Harvey show on television and radio, he has a children’s show and he is also an author. He is a business magnate but he would always be a comedian. You cannot watch him and not laugh and it is the same thing with me.
Either it is the Teju Babyface show or you are reading my book or listening to me speak; you will always laugh but I would not stand on stage like I used to do to tell jokes,” the comedian said.
Currently embracing his new found love which is public speaking and writing, the television presenter recently launched his debut book titled, ‘Secrets of the Streets.’ He told Saturday Beats that he has found more fulfilment and peace in his new endeavour.
“I did not set out to write a book but I believed some years ago that I was meant to speak to people, to become a motivational speaker. I found out that I was writing a lot of things that I intended to speak about but the challenge was that nobody was calling me to speak.
It was a challenge to find somewhere to speak and the places I wrote to always felt that I am a comedian and wondered what I know about public speaking.
After putting all the materials in my computer for a while, my friend suggested that I should write a book. I laughed at him at first but since he said I would become an authority if I write a book, after thinking about it for a while, it made sense to me. When I was launching the book, I found peace in my heart.
Someone asked me if I had made the money I intended to make and I told them that they do not have an idea. I did not run into debt trying to do it but it is not about money anymore.
There is a joy I feel being an author and I feel like a man who had finally found himself. A few people who saw me during the book launch said it in different ways that I have finally got into my place through writing and speaking,” Babyface said.

The Oyo State Police Command on Saturday paraded Aliyu and three other members of his gang at the command headquarters in Eleyeile, Ibadan.
Other members of the kidnap gang were – Babuga Salihu (20), Aura Sands (20), and Amuda Yusufu (19).
The victim, Alhaji Aliyu Babatunde, was abducted at his Igboora home town and spent three days in the kidnappers’ den before he was released after the family paid N1 million ransom.
The victim’s son, who was leader of the gang, told journalists that he was lured into the criminal act because of his father’s insensitive attitude to welfare of his children.
He said:
“We are many. My father married many wives and he doesn’t care for us. We are left by my father to fend for ourselves. So, I think the only way to get money out of him is to organise for his abduction and force him to part with the money.”
The boy confessed that the group collected N1 million from his father before they released him Babatunde added that he invited his three friends to abduct his father for the purpose of getting money from him.
The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, briefed journalists on how police smashed the kidnap gang.
He said the boy conspired with other members of the gang and kidnapped his father at Gbogbolowo camp in Igboora at about 6:00 p.m. of May 17.
The police commissioner said:
“The victim was eventually taken to an unknown place where he was kept for some days by his abductors who later demanded ransom as a condition for his release.
“Initial arrest of one of the suspects by combined efforts of the local vigilante group and the police and further discreet investigation carried out by operatives of the Special Squad led to subsequent arrest of the kingpin and other members of the gang at their various hideouts in the state.”

According to a report by PM Express, the deliverance turned into calamity as the two children of Nwoke died in the same day and Ndukwu disappeared and ran to Portharcourt in River State where he was eventually arrested and brought to Lagos.
He was arraigned before Isolo Magistrates court where he is facing charges of obtaining under false pretence, stealing and threat to life of the victim and was remanded in prison custody. P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Ndukwu prophesied to Nwoke that there was a family curse that was hindering the progress of his family members and there was need for the family to carry out deliverance to upturn the hindrance.
He assured him after the spiritual deliverance, all the things the family members lost in the past because of the curses will be regained and directed him to bring the money for the work.
It was gathered that Nwoke sold all he had and gave to Ndukwu and he performed some spiritual deliverance which eventually led to the death of Nwoke’s children. Nwoke asked to know why things turned out like that instead of getting better, the Ndukwu said he did not know what happened. He then requested the refund of his money and Ndukwu threatened to wipe out his family if he dare asked for the money.
The matter was reported to the Police and Undukwu fled before he was arrested and charged to court for the alleged offence. He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr Oje Uagbale did not object to his bail and asked court to give bail condition that will enable the defendant to come to court for trial and the defendant no longer live in Lagos State. The presiding Magistrate, Mr O.N. Ogbe granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ndukwu was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 26 June 2017. When P.M.EXPRESS contacted Ndukwu, he said he hails form Oboro in Ifakale town in Mbaitolu Local government Area in Imo State.
He said he started his Ministry some years ago and have church branches in Port-harcourt in River State, Enugu and Nnewi in Enugu and Anambra States before he was arrested.

“I left the industry because I got married and I started having kids. Immediately I got married, I started having kids and I had more responsibilities to deal with. I had to be closer to my family and kids so that they would not call me uncle when they see me. Marriage and family slowed me down. It definitely slows someone down except you do not want to take care of your family. I tried to combine marriage with work because I was doing my production. We did ‘The Patriot,’ which is a fight against fake drugs and adulterated products. We did ‘School,’ a movie about rich kids causing trouble in the school and we did ‘Champions of Our Time,’ in partnership with the Lagos State government. The actor said that while he was on hiatus, he explored other businesses one of which was that he became a bar operator. In his words, he learnt a lot from being a ‘beer seller’.
“In the process, I opened a bar and became a beer seller. I was trying to know the other side of life which actually taught me a lot of lessons. I saw a lot and it taught me to be humble. It taught me how to be humble to the lowest. It also taught me how to save money, respect and appreciate money. As an actor, when you get money, it is in the booth and you don’t have time to do anything, so money does everything for you. You go from one location to another and at the end of the day, you would find out that there is nothing left. I am no longer running the business. I stopped because I want to go into the hospitality business on a large scale,” Enyiocha said.

She died last week after a long battle with breast cancer and details of her burial activities have been released. Late Funmi will be buried on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Abeokuta.
Until her death, she worked at different times as a freelance broadcaster, presenter, newscaster with OGTV, OGBC, Paramount FM and Rockcity FM, all in Abeokuta, Ogun State. She is survived by an only son. May her soul rest in peace, amen.

In the video that was captured on CCTV and shared by a Nigeria based NGO, Diary of a Special needs Mom Initiative,in June 2016,shows the caregiver slapping, hitting and twisting the hand of the child several times.
At a point, she even used her cellphone to slap the child, tied her hands at her back and consistently pushed the little girl. The little girl fell down from her seat more than five times in the video and every time the physiotherapist picked her up, she hit the girl. She was more concerned with pressing her phone than giving the little girl any attention.
She was arrested by the police in Nigeria and sanctioned by the board of physical therapists. However, she left the country in November 2016 after receiving the Mandela award to further her studies in Physiotherapy and enable her work with children in the U.S.
A lot of people have called for her to be brought back to Nigeria and made to face the full wrath of the law.

This is height of wickedness one can show towards a child especially a special need child like this. This child is helpless and already in pain. Why would you do her more harm? This is not about professionalism, it is pure lack of love/affection.
Yes the process can be frustrating but will be tolerated if coming from a lame man/woman not from a professional like her. She was trained for the job and part of the training is care and tolerance.
I read she didn't get punishment. She even ask for permission to go to the US for some treatment cos she claim it was due to depression and ill health. But instead went for her Masters Degree in the US.

On the negative sides of her life she was tired of, Toyin replied;
"I didn't plan for a broken home, I didn't plan for a broken marriage. But when it came, there were so many negativities and I was emotionally carried away. I didn't heal before jumping into another relationship. I thought I was going to be healed through another relationship and I realized I truly don't love myself and I want people around to love me. Then I think I wasn't focusing on the things that really matter, but on the things that don't matter. I chose people before me. I didn't love myself enough. I was losing touch with things that use to work for me because I was involved in negative habits; like drugs, smoking, codeine..all those things were empowering my negative energy. Sometimes even when I do something very good and positive, it would just end being negative. So I had to stop."
On what changed Toyin said; " I realized I deserved more. I focused more on bigger pictures. I decided to change my team, few people around me and my negative habits. I stopped doing a lot of bad things that brings out the negative energy in me."
On whether she sought professional help and what changed her as of late; She replied "Of course, I sought for help. I changed some people and friends around me. I had to stop my negative habits. I worked on the negativity around me. I tried to be positive and I had to deal with depression and drugs."
On whether her battle is over, Toyin replied;
"Yes, the battle is 100% over. but like life itself, we need to always discipline ourselves so we Would be a better person. I have left my past behind and I'm looking forward to the future. That's why I agreed to change my name. Initially my family wanted everyone to change their name but I said no, because of my brand (Laughs).. And God showed himself to me. So I changed my name to Abraham. I owe it to God Almighty for giving me another chance and to my fans for always supporting me"
When asked to disclose the name of the person who introduced her to drugs, she said;
"My friend, but truthfully she's actually changed too. I was able to change her. I needed it that time because I felt the rouble was too much last year. It started and stopped last year It was too much for me. I was not in control of my life anymore. It was a bad experience, terrible one."
On whose fault is it that her marriage is over, Toyin replied;
"I'm not going to blame anybody because it takes two to tangle. I have my fault and he has his own fault. I think we both brought our negativity into the marriage and it just didn't work. But I'm going to get married and have kids."

CATHOLIC ARCHBISHOP KILL SELF
The Catholic community launched a search for the clergyman after his Land Cruiser SUV with registration plate number CE 9503V was found on the Ebebda bridge Wednesday afternoon- about 90km from Yaounde.
A search of the vehicle revealed his ID card, driver’s license and car documents.
However, a handwritten note on the letter head of the diocese simply read “Je suis dans l’eau”, which translated into English as “I am in the water” was also found in the car, local news website, cameroon-info.net reported.
Naseri Paul Bea, Governor of the Centre region, the Divisional Officer of the locality and other administrative authorities were reported to have rushed to the scene with security forces.
The Divisional Officer, D.O, of Ebebda, told journalists that a Reverend Father informed him about the incident at about 1pm.
“I immediately ran to the scene and saw for myself. The car is truly here on the bridge and the note the Bishop left suggests he jumped into the river”, said the DO.
He also said no damage had been done to the car which indicates there was no violence.

Her deadline to return the loan was fixed for April 2017. Rather than pay back the loan, Madam Joyce made arrangements to assassinate the lender.
Police say Madam Joyce Antwi hired an assassin to kill her business partner Instead of paying back the owed sum, she hired a man she thought was an assassin for N365, 000 to kill the business partner.
Antwi paid an advance fee of N150,000 to the man and showed him the house of her business partner. With a promise to pay the balance as soon as the job was done. She then advised him to carry out the killing in the afternoon when her business partner’s husband and children would not be at home.
The contracted “assassin” then reported Madam Antwi to the police and she was swiftly arrested. She is said to have admitted to the crime in her caution statement.

It's been discovered that Inspector Sunday, was abducted, tortured and later buried alive while on illegal duty, guarding a land under dispute at Ibeju Lekki.
Sunday and four of his men were alleged to have been drafted to guard the land by their Admin Officer (AO), at Ibeju Lekki without the knowledge of the Officer in Charge of SARS (OC) and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni. The father-of-four, with children aged 4,6,8 and 12, was reportedly trying to save a civilian guard from hoodlums when he was attacked and kidnapped while his men escaped.
Two men had been struggling for possession of the land. One of the men, identified simply as Prince, went to the SARS Admin Officer, who happened to be his friend, and asked for some officers to be assigned to guard the land for him and prevent his opponent from encroaching on the land. The Admin Officer (AO) then drafted Sunday and four other policemen without going through the proper channel of informing the OC SARS or the Lagos State Commissioner of Police. Sunday, the other policemen and some civilian guards drafted by Prince had been guarding the land for months when hoodlums employed by Prince's opponent stormed the land. Several people from both factions claiming possession of the land have been involved in fights for months which have led to several deaths.
In November last year, hoodlums from the other faction reportedly came with a bulldozer. Some of the thugs from the other faction attacked Prince's thugs and a fight ensued. Prince's faction was overpowered and one of his thugs was taken. Sunday went back to save the man and he was captured while other policemen working with Sunday and the man he just saved escaped. The Inspector's number became unavailable after he was abducted and his family members went to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, demanding to know what had happened to him.
His colleagues who escaped reported that they immediately went to Mobile Police Force (Mopol) 49, Epe for help in rescuing Sunday but nothing was done. They then went to Akodo Police Station but the DPO said she couldn’t send anyone to the area because it was a volatile axis. From there they reported to SARS, Ikeja, and for five days, no action was taken to rescue Sunday. Later, policemen started looking for Sunday. They went to Bonny Camp, Victoria Island in their search for him but the soldiers said Sunday wasn’t with them. When the OC SARS went to meet Owoseni, to inform him of the missing inspector, Owoseni demanded to know the person that deployed Sunday and his men on the illegal duty.
Sunday's phone was eventually tracked through the efforts of the Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) operatives and that led them to Sunday's alleged killers. It was then discovered that Sunday had been tortured, starved for five days and when his men did not come after those days, they took him to the traditional ruler who instructed them to bury Sunday alive. At least five people, including the traditional ruler known as Baale have been arrested in connection with the murder. Investigation revealed that the attack and burial of Sunday was led by one Mr Balogun who is now on the run.It was Balogun who tied his hand before burying him. Balogun's second in command, Arokin, has been arrested and it was him who confessed that Sunday was buried alive.
The suspects led police to where Sunday’s rifle was buried and also to the traditional ruler who denied knowledge of Sunday's murder. Baale was invited to the police command but rather than honour the invitation, he ran to Police Force Headquarters, Abuja but was told at Abuja to go back to Lagos and respond first to police invitation. Pathologists from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), who exhumed Sunday’s corpse said that it looked as if he was buried with his hands tied behind.
New Telegraph reports that Sunday's wife Halimat, 27, and her children are now suffering and she can no longer afford to pay their school fees. The widow, who is a housewife, lamented the lack of support from her husband's colleague and said that her children still look forward to seeing their father. She said the fateful day of the incident, she spoke with her late husband around 4 pm and he promised to come home the following day. When at night, his kids asked to speak with him, his number was no longer available and it's been that way till date.
“They were deployed there to maintain peace. We learnt that hoodlums were attacking a man, so my husband and his men moved to rescue the man. He told the other two policemen to go and put the man in the car so he could be safe. The hoodlums pounced on my husband and took him away. Sensing danger as the hoodlums kept increasing in number, his men ran away. Since then, we have not heard from him.
“Three months after, police kept telling us that they were on the matter. We learnt they have arrested the Prince that hired the hoodlums, but nothing has happened since then. His children keep asking after him. His aged mother, who has high blood pressure, has not stopped asking for his whereabouts. We don’t know what else to tell her.”
She added:
“Nobody from the police cared to check on us, and now we don’t have money because we don’t have access to his ATM pin. I want my husband to come back. The children are suffering, and I can’t carry the load alone.”
US VISA APPLICANTS NOW TO PROVIDE SOCIAL MEDIA DETAILS
As part of President Donald Trump’s efforts, to tighten vetting of would-be visitors to the US.People applying for US visas worldwide, will now have to fill a new questionnaire...Applicants would be asked for their social media handles for the last five years and biographical information going back 15 years.
They were approved on May 23 by the Office of Management and Budget.
Consular officials can request all prior passport numbers, five years’ worth of social media information, email addresses and phone numbers.
They can also ask for 15 years of biographical information including addresses, employment and travel history.
However, critics have said the new questions would be tiring and lead to long delays in processing, discouraging international students and scientists from travelling to the States.
The State Department said earlier the tighter vetting would apply to visa applicants “who have been determined to warrant additional scrutiny in connection with terrorism or other national security-related visa ineligibilities”.

According to TheCable, a male voice alleged to be that of Kwakpovwe could be heard telling Rita how he would make love to her and she will forget her name.
In the telephone conversation, the man could be heard saying: “I’m crazy about you but you are not so I decided to take my eyes off you. I’m just looking for someone to take out, yesterday I took somebody out yesterday and I want to take you out today but you are running from me, you would have enjoyed the two days now. Even Mummy respects you,”
The male voice further assured Ibeni that he would give her the best s*x of her life “Don’t worry before I do it, I’ll tell you. Don’t you know I can do it, I will do it and you will enjoy it, you will forget your name. You will be calling my name Chris, Chris. I can’t wait to have you.
“I’m missing you crazy please plan for us to see. If you want us to marry, we will have to plan it. I can never have more than two, I can not cope with anyone other than Mummy and you. You don’t call or text. I’m in Lekki, working alone and I want to hear from you, I prefer Whatsapp messages.”
Although the church has denied the audio recording, Rita has insisted that the phone conversation took place.
Rita has taken to social media to maintain her stand. She wrote: “I feel the time has come for me to speak out in the light of the media warfare and deliberate falsehood being dished from the pulpit against me by Bishop Chris Kwapovwe of our Daily Manna (ODM). My person and character has been consistently maligned by a man I once called Daddy, a man I once looked up to for inspiration and guidance, a man whose charisma stir up my faith to believe the impossible.
At the beginning of this nightmare, my faith and Christian upbringing restrained me from speaking out, for fear of being accused of attacking a “man of God” but as the saying goes silent means consent. To many my continuous silence in the face of being used as sermon topic week in week out is a confirmation of my assumed guilt.
I want to start from the very beginning to tell my side of this unfortunate story. My first contact with ODM was when I was invited to the month anointing service by a catholic family in 2010. After my first visit I started attending Sunday services and from there I became a member of the church, and subsequently joined the technical dept due to my previous experience as a volunteer. In September 2012 there was a vacancy for full time employment which I applied for and was employed.
Upon my employment, I continued to work as a camera man in the department until 2015 when the unit head Mr. Adewumi Aderemi was sacked, due to issues surrounding missing equipment. Upon his sack I was asked by Bishop Chris to take over from him. This elevation was the beginning of my nightmare. On assuming the position of unit head, I quickly took inventory with the HOD of the technical department Deacon Patrick Uchendu. After the inventory we found out that mixer, transmitter, video camera, Photo camera and photo album were missing. Together with Deacon Uchendu we went to see the AGO to report the matter. We eventually took the matter to Bishop Chris, who invited Inspector Clarus Atabor the Mobile police chief security officer to go and arrest Mr Adewumi. But that was the last I heard of the matter.
On February 14 this year Bishop Chris suddenly recalled Mr Adewumi and stated at the staff meeting that he heard that Mr Adewumi stole some equipment. But as a father he is willing to forgive him. He then asked Mr Adewumi to go to the Alter in the main auditorium to ask God for forgiveness from “his three friends”. All of a sudden the Bishop ordered me and Mr Adewunmi to take a fresh inventory. The second inventory confirmed the same items we found missing on Mr Adewumis departure in 2015. Meanwhile, the telephone sexual harassment continued, in spite of this official attitude.
I must confess that at first I was shocked, scared, and confused at the same time. I was in a dilemma as of what is the right way to handle such an abnormal situation, knowing that even my close acquaintances will struggle to believe me. So the double dealing continued, the Bishop will talk tough publicly and declare his love for me in private. It was indeed a nightmarish situation. I was between the devil and the deep blue sea, if I speak out I will be accused of trying to bring down a man of God and if I keep quit as I did the torment continues.
Faced with the challenge of who to turn to within my immediate environment without complicating the situation, I decided to stay away from work and stopped picking up the Bishop’s calls.
In all sincerity, I was hoping that the church intervenes by sending people to find out what actually happened and to resolve the matter in a Christian way. Rather what I got was a police raid from Ogudu Polices station on the 27th of march2017. I was arrested with the accusation that I stole the missing equipment; the case was reported by Pastor Ime Eno under the instructions of the bishop without reference to the church administrative and disciplinary organs. I protested that I was in poor health, as well as observing my menstrual circle. I was assured that I was only going to make a statement and return home. On arrival at the station, I discovered that I was the only one arrested and accused directly of stealing the missing items. Every effort to secure my bail by and lawyer was abortive as the police appear to be under instruction to keep me locked up. On the second day, to my utmost surprise Bishop Chris came with all members of our unit, including Mr Adewumi as witnesses against me, I expected that if something is missing the police would have conducted general investigation, why was I singled out? But to the glory of God none of them claimed to have seen me with any of the missing equipment despite being obviously coached on what to say. Same day in the DPOs office Bishop Chris was blowing hot and cold, he asked the DPO to appeal to me to return to work, with a promise to write-off the cost of the equipment after consulting with his “Three friends”. Due to the conflicting actions and utterances of the Bishop the IPO asked me to tell her what is going on between me and the Bishop. When it became clear that Bishop Chris was out to punish me, I had no option than to open up to explain why I stopped picking his calls and stayed away from work. When I said that, the police asked if I had any proof of sexual harassment and I requested for my phone and played a few recordings to them. On hearing the tape recordings the police quickly granted me bail and informed the Bishop of the development.
On learning of the tape recording Bishops Chris quickly told the police he was no longer interested in prosecuting the case but wants to settle the matter amicable. The next day he set up a meeting with my lawyer, his lawyer, publicist, me and his wife Rev Dr Flora Ejiro Kwakpovwe at Dominion Pizza at Ogudu. Bishop’s wife, who is the Assistant general Overseer of the Church, bought pizza for everybody. She requested to hear the tape and after listening briefly appealed for settlement, referring to the matter as a family matter. So the meeting ended on a very conciliatory note. Or so we thought.
Two days later my lawyer called me to say the Bishop requested for another meeting, insisting that he wants to see me to personally apologize to me. I declined to attend as I still wasn’t feeling well. I expected my lawyer to call to brief me on the meeting but didn’t hear from him, I called his phone but it was switched off. Late afternoon of the next day, my lawyer called me to inform me that Bishop Chris stormed the venue of the meeting at the same Dominion Pizza Ogudu with three truck load of men of Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS) to arrest them. They were detained at SARS office at Ikeja and hurriedly charged to court the next day. As God will have it they were granted bail and released the same day. After narrating this sudden twist in the case it became clear why the Bishop was insisting he wants me to be in the meeting. As the smart person he prides himself to be, he was hoping to seize the recording from me through his SARS operatives. Why SARS? I asked, he explained that the Bishop alleged that they were trying to blackmail and extort money from him.
While this was going on, Bishop Chris continued to attack me from his pulpit, calling me unprintable names, claiming that I tried to seduce him, after stealing equipments worth 13million naira later said 7.5milloin and later told the police 5.6million naira. After his friends in high places gave him SARS operatives in a matter of missing office equipment to torment me and those who came to deliver me from his mighty hand. He changed the story that I was an agent of a blackmailing gang who wants to extort his “hard earned money”. Sadly his church members who are victims of his deceitful life style, lies and manipulations never stop to question the reason a whole Bishop went to a police station to lie and lock up a church member without subjecting the case first to the church disciplinary and internal crisis management process?
Why is the man that preaches to others to be the first to forgive, be the first to run to the police just to intimidate me to give in to his ungodly demand?
After the harrowing experience my lawyer petitioned the Lagos state commissioner of police against SARS actions and continuous intimidation. The commissioner ordered SARS to transfer the case file to his office and summoned all parties to his office. Present at the meeting that took place in the conference room of the Lagos state Commissioner of police are Bishop Chris, his wife, lawyers, Pastor Ime Eno, me and my lawyer. At the Meeting of Wenesday 26th April, superintended by the Lagos state deputy commissioner of Police, Alh Dasuki Galadanchy, Head of the Legal department CSP Yetunde Cardozo, after listening to the tape recording told him that he really harassed me. At that meeting even the SARS people who have been acting like an arm of ODM security became sober after hearing the tape recording and oral evidence. However, the Bishops comic side reared its head to the amazement of every one when he demanded from the police to ask me to apologize to him for recording his voice, after initially denying that the voice was his. At that point we were asked to go and settle the matter and report back to the police.
Rather than adhere to this instruction, the Bishop and his loyal servants and publicist has continued to sponsor evil reports against me. Linking me to everything missing in ODM since inception just to tarnish my image and maintain his false image before his church members.
WHY I RECORDED BISHOP CHRIS CALLS: Many members and supporters of Bishop Chris have understandably raised this point. And I think it’s fair to address it.
I want to reiterate the fact that what happened to me was shocking and confusing. Here is a man I called Daddy, a man I regarded as a mentor and spiritual guide. But it did something to me. It removed the scale from my eyes and I started paying attention to some of the stories circulating in the church and started questioning some practices and actions. Below are some cases that proved to me that Bishop Chris has no value for relationships and considers everyone around him as disposable material.
DEACON EMMA OKOKORO’S CASE: Dcn Emma was Bishop Chris loyal PA for 22years. He was fondly called Junior Bishop due to his dedication and commitment. Early last year, Dcn Emma suddenly disappeared from the church. After a few weeks of stories making the rounds that he left after the Bishop said to one Rasta man, his technician that Dcn Emma does not exist in his presence. To which the Deacon responded that he exist in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Emma was quoted to have said, that once the Bishop makes such utterance in anger something evil will happen to a person.
Rather than reaching out to Deacon Emma he came to the Church to announce that he just discovered from Deaconess Oyegun that Deacon Emma is a thief who has been stealing from him. He went further to tell a dumb founded congregation that Deacon Emma tried to Poison him. Nobody could reconcile what he said with the personality and unquestionable commitment of Deacon Emma.
DEACONESS ESTHER OGOS CASE: Deaconess Esther Ogo was Bishop Chris’ Head of protocol who was unceremoniously dropped and replaced by a more pliable young man Daniel Egbo. Daniel Egbo was rapidly promoted to Deacon and Pastor within two years.
The story was that Deaconess Esther went against Bishop Chris’ instruction to book one Miss Tamie West on the same flight and the same hotel to Uyo. Miss Tamie west is Bishop Chris choir director who was known not to be in talking terms with the Bishops wife because she was romantically linked with Bishop Chris.
The story was that Deaconess Esther felt it was wrong to book Miss Tamie in the same flight and hotel with Bishop Chris considering the rumors surrounding their personal relationship. She decided to book Miss Tamie in a different flight and hotel with other staffs and ministers for the event.
This action did not go down well with the Bishop and Miss Tamie west. So on return to Lagos after the event Deaconess Esther was disgraced out of the department and replaced by inexperienced but loyal Daniel Egbo. The Deaconess was used to preach and practically ridiculed out of Manna Mountain [ODM
]
MRS DOLAPO KWAKPOVWE, BISHOP CHRIS FIRST WIFE: Bishop Chris regales his church members with the story of how he wanted to commit suicide because his wife left him and everybody deserted him. But his ongoing Divorce proceeding at an Igbosere court reveals that his wife Pham Dolapo Kwakpovwe left him for serial adultery having caught him on four occasions on their matrimonial bed with members of the Church then known as LIBERTY ARMY.
THE WOMAN THAT LOST A TOOTH AT THE STADIUM: every worshipper at ODM knows this story. A woman attended anointing service at the indoor spot hall of the National stadium; she failed during ministration and lost some tooth. The matter was not managed well and the woman went to court against him. Bishop Chris will preach with this woman on every occasion calling her a Gold digger, who wants to blackmail and extort money from him.
DEACON SOLOMON ALO: The last straw was the public ridicule and humiliation meted on this loyal servant, a fine Christian gentleman who can lay down his life for Bishop Chris and his church. Deacon Alo was called all manner of names by the Bishop for daring to appeal to him to take it easy on mama, his wife who was crying, after another round of humiliation at a meeting. After the tongue lashing Deacon Alo was suspended indefinitely
I left the meeting knowing that nobody with the right spirit can survive under this man.
OTHER VICTIMS: Time will fail me to talk about Pastor Chike and Pastor Patrick Nnadi, pioneer Pastor of Manna Mountain {ODM} church. Pastor Prophet Shekina Igho, Deaconess Ruth, amongst.
It is a fact that nobody leaves Bishop Chris of ODM without being tarnished as a thief, money grabber, and etc.
Having experienced all these contradictions, it became clear to me that if I keep resisting his advances I will be next in line on his casualty list. That is why I started recording his advances for a day like this when my integrity will come under attack|.
In conclusion, I wish to state as follows:
I did not steal any equipment from ODM
I did not blackmail or collaborate with anybody to blackmail Bishop Chris
I did not go to the police or the press with recordings of his sex demand, rather he is the one who took me to SARS, using Church money to induce SARS to intimidate into silence.
I did not clone his voice, if he is sure the voice is not his let him take necessary steps to prove it. I do not know of any technology that could clone a man’s voice for hours in a two way communication.
I never had access to Bishop Chris Phones. I don’t need his phone to extract videos that are sent through Whatsapp.
There is no roaring lion anywhere Bishop Chris Kwakpovwe is the Lion of intimidation.
Nobody is trying to bring him down; it’s just nemesis catching up with him in Gods appointed time.
Let members ask him why was I the only one arrested? You can go to Ogudu police station to verify this. Other members of the department came with him as his witness,
Why did he block the police from investigating Adewunmi, the private security company, the store where the equipment was kept and the CCTV cameras, if he is not just out to punish me for daring to resist his advances.
Why was my departmental Head, Deacon Patrick, kept in the dark about this persecution?
I have dozens of tape recording of his amorous calls at ungodly hours which will be made public soon for those who know him to judge.
It has never been about money, I only want to redeem my name and my family’S name which he has gone to great extent to tarnish without cause.
He claims his members who are supposed to be spiritual are contributing money to fight this case to its logical conclusion instead of praying to the God of justice to reveal the truth to them. I want his church members to have the opportunity to know the kind of person he is.
I dare him to swear by the heavens that the conversation below is fake !!!”
